The keeper should never have been given the chance to make the save, had the ball fallen to Obika or virtually any player they would have just planted it in the net, not tried to go around him. As I have said this is not knocking` Ince but he will NOT replace Crofts as our goal scoring midfielder and Bridcutt as DM as dome have suggested in the past,

What are you on about?, I'm not talking about Ince. But as you've alluded to the Ince missed chance, easy to say from the stands. I think some people forget just what a shift that our players had put in against a decent side, and how heavy their legs were in the final 20. If you've played the game you'll know how 'easy' it is to make the wrong decision or not be able to find the power for the shot when you need it in games like that.

I honestly think he just wasn't expecting it. The smart choice is to pass to the striker further away from the only defender back there. I think he expected it to go straight to Obika, but orlandi passed it to Ince to pass to Obika, and it caught Ince by surprise, got caught under his feet then he had little chance to do anything except try to go around the keeper.

I'm not convinced we have anyone who can offer what Crofts does, he's tough in the tackle, get's 'up and down' the pitch, good finisher and is experienced......

Reckon this could have a big impact on our season, it really needs someone to step up, perhaps Agustein, but I doubt whether he'd last much longer than 60 mins trying to do what Crofts does. Ince get's up and down, but can't finish, Bridcutt gets a nose-bleed if he gets near the opposition's penalty area, Spanish Dave can't tackle, JFC is too lightweight, Andrews?

Sorry to be so positive :)wink:) ....... Gutted for Crofty.

Anybody any other suggestions?

Am I correct in saying that we have 3 joint top scorers at the moment in Ulloah, Crofts and Ashley?

We've now 'lost' 2 of them within 3 days and the third was dreadful yesterday.

I heard (on the radio) our pitch is soft on the top but is hard underneath?, maybe this is the cause of it!

They mentioned that on radio Sussex. However they stated that was in the first season. I'm sure the pitch was sorted and re-laid in the following summer. In that case I don't understand their comments that it should be anything to do with the pitch.

I'm unsure if it has been relaid or not, all I know is that they somehow use artificial grass with real grass, maybe the artificial grass makes the pitch hard underneath somehow?

And yet we're 6th and the goal that got us there came from Lopez.....

I genuinely feel for Crofts. He's been immense this season and he'll be a huge miss. However, our biggest problem this season has been converting our chances in to goals. Sadly Crofts is a bad and unexpected loss but Barnes missed more than he scored and Ulloa was lethal at the start of the season with quite limited service. I'd back KLL to score a few from that free position and I hope we have our eye on a true finisher to replace Barnes. *crosses fingers*

Player of the season for me, gutted for him. I hope we can get as lucky again with another player stepping up as when we brought in Bridcutt to replace Navarro and the way Crofts has thrived this season when Bridcutt was ruled out through injury.
