Perhaps letting Poyet go was a mistake, not because of his managerial tactics but because of his eye for talent. Turned Bridcutt, Buckley, Barnes and Noone into highly rated players and really wanted to sign Van Dijk who is now rated at £10m!

We didn't let poyet go, he f**ked off at his own accord because we weren't big enough for his ego.

Had he stayed I'm sure we would've gone up last year, the only person to blame for that is poyet.

We fired him.... we could have accommodated him or reasoned. Showed what a good manager he is at Sunderland. I think he's the best manager we'll have for quite a while now.

part exchange for Wickham, maybe

Sunderland turned down a bid from West Ham. What makes you think we have any chance? Or does he have a 12 year old brother we are looking at ?

Yep he alone facked up our chances of promotion....complete utter **** and was glad to see the back of him.He had a great budget and to be fair we was pretty dire to watch under him most of the time and really boring away from home.

That's my favourite player gone then.
Never really produced his best consistently I admit and injury prone too but nevertheless every game I was waiting for him to do the bizzo that I always knew he was capable of.

It sounded like he is going to WBA

Virgo suggested he was on an EasyJet flight to Birmingham but how would he know his FINAL DESTINATION ?

I agree Chopper - and I'll be disappointed if he goes. He represents, for me, the hope that we had at the beginning
of the Amex era - and which sadly seems to now be a distant memory.

I thought most on here reckoned that Buckley has declined in his time with the Albion. He arrived a highly rated and proven Championship player.

Van Dijk - other clubs, bigger than the Albion, wanted him and he chose one. Van Dijk and McCormack keep getting reeled out as the 2 players that "if only TB had given us even greater losses met out of his own pocket, that would have guaranteed us PL promotion". They were already highly regarded players and never came close to joining the smaller club after them, the Albion.

I'm convinced that ever since Poyet left that Buckley has had his eye on joining him. In fact I expect he was one of the players that Gus tapped up. Just occasionally last season he put in a performance. Often when playing away 'up North' strangely enough. Bridcutt had the same mentality. I'm sure it was one of the 'issues' that Oscar mentioned without going into detail. It's better he is off as long as we can replace. I've got a feeling that Will will suddenly get over his injury issues pretty quickly....just a hunch I have.
