Up to £41 for a match day ticket at the Amex next season, too much?

Supply and demand surely? We are in demand, so put the prices up, when the demand is not there as much, put the prices down.

That is what clubs like Derby have done, we're not unique being in this situation. Still another reason to bash the club, maybe we should lower our expectations for this season if we don't want to pay the prices Bloom wants.

Perhaps.

Last season every match was in theory 'sold out' so perhaps the Albion should have increased ST prices by a greater amount too.

It does seem inconsistent to increase ST prices by £1.50 a match, but increase day prices by £4 a match.

I appreciate that the travel voucher is embedded in the cost for everyone, and if the Albion deliver Premiership quality football for Premiership quality prices there may be no grounds for complaint anyway.

A two tier pricing structure may maximise revenue though. We know that Palace, Charlton, Forest! Leeds etc will sell out their allocation, can't see the likes of Barnsley or Wigan doing so, and it would be a shame for their to be gaps in the seats.

This thread is a nonsense.

We are debating a figure of £41 for a ticket, when the reality of the fact is that virtually the only tickets that will be available for league games are going to be £28 ones, to see a quality squad, at an amazing stadium that has just had £100m invested in it. Oh and it will even include travel.................

The real challenge to these prices will be a moderately interesting home cup game.

Perhaps one of the unpopular decisions to be introduced by Paul Barber would be to automatically direct debit STH for home cup games?

It works for Manchester United and their STH keep coming back.

Would be good to see some day-before cheap deals for students etc when we get to the stage of having unsold tickets.

I could not have put it better myself.

To me its a smart move most of the games for league the seats left are at the bottom end of the pricing scale. Those for cups etc people will buy their usual seats. for £3-4 a seat it wont make a difference, only the people who can't make it / JCLs who only care about who we are playing won't bother. A move to maximise cup returns.

In non-glamour ties (league or cup) the club can subsidise where it feels fit to maximize return using special offers hell...my brother used to work at a premier league team. When demand was low they would try an fill seats with kids on comps, I settle for that if it pumps up the gate and hooks some kids long term.

p.s. El Pres...you share a car on the way down £70 petrol spit 4 ways is £17.50...cheaper than my train fare from Reading ;-)

We are indeed living through very tough times - so for people who are really struggling right now and are only able to go to a few matches the good old nsc ticket exchange usually has offers of tickets for face value, for a donation to remf and sometimes even for free

I'm sort of on the fence - £41 really is too much but others have said it's likely people will pay much less. I certainly won't pay £41 but then most of the matches I went to last season I brought from the NSC Ticket Exchange thus only paying a total of £30 a match once you include my bus fare and a pie and a pint. Please Bozza, keep the exchange going as even if the club ever do pull their finger out and sort one I suspect their prices will be higher than on here.

Sadly, as my partner is currently out of work, trips to the Amex are currently looking like a distant treat !

It is not the going rate, what nonsense. I think only two teams in the Championship charge that sort of money. It is however supply and demand and we will soon see if the market will bear those prices.

Derby, Leicester, Wolves & Ipswich (£59!!!) all charge £40+ for their dearest tickets, West Ham did also. Then you have Forest, Bolton, Leeds & Blackburn all charging more than £35 for their dearest tickets. We're not even the dearest on our cheapest tickets. And none of the others as far as I am aware have transport and park & ride included in their ticket prices.

To those who can't afford a season ticket, those prices look absolutely disgusting

I can understand that not all people can commit to a season ticket , but if paying monthly surely that is no different tham paying for say 2 games a month paying on the day . Infact its cheaper than pay on the day .

1) Nobody will pay £41 to watch a league match at The Amex next season. Those seats are only the centre of WSL, which is sold out to STHs. The only tickets you will be able to buy will be South Stand and South corners, which will be the cheapest of all. You're still looking at £30, which isn't exactly cheap, but it's not the total rape scene that is £41.
Absolutely this. I imagine WSL I Block will still be Matchday? Which would increase from £30 to £34 - not a massive rise. Even for a family of four that's only £16 extra a game for an improved stadium. Now, if that rise would stop said family from going, they probably ought not to be going to the football anyway.

If you come to the Amex by public transport/use a car park, how much would that cost you normally? Is the £4 transport 'levy' per ticket an accurate reflection of the cost of getting bus/train or paying to park?

To be honest £41 seems a little too much for me, as ther OP said it makes the season ticket seem more of a bargain.

Bollocks to that.

Football should not cost £40 a throw.

Where do you think your money ends up?

I'd rather people spend this massive wealth of disposable income on something worthwhile, not giving a 17 year old the chance to carbon wrap his motor.

beautifully put

25 years ago 2 hours working behind a bar paid enough to buy a ticket for a game + a couple of pints, now a 6 hour shift wouldn't be enough. 'The people's game' my hairy arse.

and people shouldn't compare it to the price of the cinema either 'cause that's a f***ing rip off too. ....

1 hour's work for an average Joe/ Joanna should pay enough for a ticket for 1 hour's play. 27,000 x minimum wage 24 times a year should be the clubs budget.

Socialism doesn't rule

Seems ok when you think of the millions bloom has spent and is now spending to get this club going in the right direction. and with free D.D instalments for season tickets is more than fair to be honest.
