Unwanted gift or unreasonable - should I let him wear the Arsenal shirt?

My wife is accusing me of being unreasonable because I don't want our new born son, 6 weeks old, to wear the baby Arsenal all in one given to him for Christmas by a family freind. Am I being unreasonable or is it only right I have fathers football right to assume our new boy Charlie wears a baby Albion shirt until he's old enough to make his own choice?

p.s. I said I'd let the great and the good of NSC adjudicate on this one.

How would i know?I'm pissed.
Let him wear the Arsenal one........he's only going to puke on it and shit in it.

When he's potty trained, get him a full replica kit.

Stick to your guns Twickers. You have EVERY right to dictate what kind of football related attire your newborn wears. Otherwise its the thin end of the wedge. Today its a "cute" Arsenal all in one, then next week its a Chelsea bobble hat, until finally you've got a full-blown Palace duvet cover on your hands.

You MUST make a stand now, for your childs sake. In years to come, he'll thank you for it.

Dump her!!

Yes right I am on board with most of your sentiment there with perhaps just a little tweaking on the marital element.

Ditch it.

My oldest two were given numerous bits of Fulham kit and training gear and not once did it ever see the light of day. All donated to Shirts 4 Africa.

:lolol: My mum brought our boy an Arsenal shirt for Xmas with Henry 14 on the back......says it was his best present!

You could always use it in emergencies, like when hes pooed in and sicked on in all his other babygrows!

Like the Shirts 4 Africa idea, it wouldn't appear too rude if I did that, though Africa might think it's getting ridiculous with a baby Arsenal squad emerging after the Fulham Ghana Juniors.

Family friend's choice of team or Dad's?

Simplest of choices because there isn't a choice....dump the gooners stuff.

Did you really need to ask us?:lolol:

Nope ditch it.

My son is nearly eight now and against all the Chelsea Arsenal and Spurs supporters he proudly wears his Albion shirt.

This was achieved by simply blanking out any other team. He had to support the Albion, don't let any other influences into his life!!

You can give them some street cred if need be by getting them all the England gear as well, but Arsenal, you're avin a laugh!!

And if the wife doesn't like it, just tweak her nipples, they should be pretty sore I would imagine

Oh boy, I hadn't even thought to look on the back of the shirt. You've inspired me there though, we could use it as a changing mat or muslin!

Was that along with all that Leeds rubbish?:lolol:

WHAT KIND OF FAMILY FRIEND IS THAT!!!!!

My wife's family are banned from singing "i'm forever blowing bubbles" around my 15 week old son.

It is not unreasonable and i would burn the shirt.

As soon as he is a couple of years old, my framed signed shirt is going up in his room. Mind you i have to, as i live in South East London, or he'll end up supporting Charlton.

Thank you for all the sage advice. I find the hard line no nonsense approach most appealing, though it does need balancing with the gesture of the family freind.
