Love the fact that HMHB managed to get Lech Walesa into a song, and then rhyme it with "Marks and Spencers".

And everyone nodded and said, "yeah, they do " when they said that 99% of gargoyles look like Bob Todd.

Cocteau Twins had loads of unusual words in their songs, mainly old Scottish words apparently or just made up. Trouble is they sounded like gobbledygook and were never written down. A quick recall of their song titles include the words Tishbite, Frou-Frou, Rilkean, Iceblink, Overfloweth, Fiftyfold, Multifoiled etc etc

Sodom..or is it Gomorrah!
I have relied on the old stalwart Nick Cave for this beauty from Lay me low:

They'll sound a fluegelhorn
And the sea will rage, and the sky will storm
All man and beast will mourn
When I go

Honourable mention to The Ramones in Teenage Lobotomy:
Now I guess I’ll have to tell ‘em
That I’ve got no Cerebellum

Here I'll pull out some words from one song by a quite well known artist - for a small and inconsequential prize, name the artist and song:

maelstrom
pornographic
Richard Coeur de Lion
disinclination

Soho (Needless to Say) by Al Stewart

Very good.

One of the most ludicrous rhyming couplets in the history of pop music:

The sun goes down on a neon eon
Though you'd have a job explaining it to Richard Coeur de Lion

There are several in this verse by Carter USM, and note the Brighton connection:

Moving up on second base
Behind Nicholas Van Wotsisface
At six foot six and a hundred tons
The undisputed king of the slums
With more aliases than Klaus Barbie
The master butcher of Leigh-on-Sea
Just about to take the stage
The one and only
Hold the front page!

Ground floor shoppers paradise,
Haberdashery needles spoons and knives...
Knuckles dusters glass jaws and wooden hearts

I got in trouble at school for wearing a black sheriff fatman tshirt under my white shirt with YOU FAT ******* in massive orange writing in the back.

My first ever gig was Carter at the Aston Villa Leisure centre, supported by The Family Cat

You see - this is why I like NSC. Never heard this song, nor even this band. So, now listening to their output on You Tube, and wondering quite why or how I've not heard it before!

Thank you.
