[Music] Unusual music collaborations

One of the dullest gigs I saw was santana at Earl's court (76). Eric Burdon, supporting, was good though. I saw McL at Reading in 75. The original Mahavishnu Orchestra but with Jean Luc Ponty in place of Jerry Goodman (I think)....TBH a long way from anything I listen to today....

I listened to Birds of Fire the other day on vinyl, still sounds good.

I also went to Reading in 75. Did your tent get washed out in the rain ?

I went for the day.....I have steadfastly refused to go camping in any shape or form after a traumatic 3 days at Hillside, Small Dole, as a cub scout in the 1960s, where the latrines were so disgusting I deliberately constipated myself for the duration.

BTW Maria Schneider regarded as one of the top composer/arrangers in Jazz was Gill Evans' assistant when he collaborated with Sting. I have come across suggestions that most of the orchestrations were in fact her work.
