Unreadable Heritage Stones

Agree with all the above comments. I bought two stones as memorials and really sad that they are being used as a door mat rather than in a position to show respect for supporters of the club.

We got one for our late father, and as far as I am concerned, it is fine. I daresay weathering, foot and vehicular traffic will take it's toll, but that might actually be a nice effect...

That's cool, and I am genuinely happy that you are happy with it. I'm not here to try to convince everyone that they are basically crap, but to give everyone a chance to do something about it if they feel as I do.

Shine on. :)

They should be on a wall like Walsall have done, they looked very bright and totally legible. They were also at a decent height for all to see.

You can add mine to your list as well please, not one to usally moan but feel these stones were a sub standard effort which need replacing and as also mentioned by others repositioning to somewhere more suitable.
Cert no's 0048 and 0049

Thing is, they look like they've just been glued on. I'm under no illusions that these stones would be holding the ground together, but I like the idea that they at least seem part of the stadium (and outer area), rather than just a piece of rock added on after.

I take your point, but it does not alter the fact that they are way below par in the quality stakes.

I reported by email to the Hertiage stone suppliers. They replied that it would be fixed, that was 4 weeks ago

Add me to the list.

They look like someones being drawing on the ground with blue chalk. Get them done properly and put on wall.

That's odd! Somebody actually said that to me at the Blackpool match whilst we were looking at the poor state of the stones. It wasn't you, was it?

Great stuff - the more the merrier!

I'm actually quite bowled over by the strength of feeling about this. Yet another reason to be an Albion fan.

Well done. :)

Please add me. I bought two stones and was hugely disappointed. I took my uncle up there to see the one baring the name of his late father and we could barely read it as there had just been a light shower! Moving out of the way for a delivery van to pass over the stones hardly added to the experience. I can't imagine that anyone associated with the club would claim that they represent value for money or that, more importantly, they are a fitting memorial for so many loyal fans who will never be lucky enough to experience the Amex.

Add me and the Boy Bud, we actually got ours by donating to the A&K fund many years ago, and was told it would go on the WALL :-(
Tried looking 4 ours on Sat eventually found it was hardly readable, a disgrace in my humble opinion :-(
