[Football] Unpopular opinion (?) - the winter break might not be such a bad thing after all?

I think it will really work for some teams - I am expecting a few surprises in the Premier League table this season largely due to the mid-season World Cup.

How many times have we seen player form dip in the season after major tournaments?

Yup. Pretty intense, especially with the retarded post-season "Nations League" shit. Pretty sure the very short break a lot of players had is going to be noticeable next season. Not least the World Cup could be pretty damn bad as anyone playing regularly in a national team barely had any rest since the Covid "break" in 2020.

Yeah great - except half the premier league are flying around the world with time differences of +/- 6-10 hours which has a huge impact on the human body clock, sleep etc. Can’t have it both ways with ‘player welfare’

No. If we don't have a break we'll miss the likes of Pep and Klopp moaning about how they can't manage their 25 man squad!!

Think of is this way, they'll now be able to moan about the fact that all their players returned from the WC injured/tired etc, so there's even more excuses!
