In fairness, sometimes he borrows it. He took Portsmouth up on the strength of some good loan deals. The problem came when the financing of permanent signings he'd been allowed to make later on couldn't be sustained.
Taking on a Spurs team that had acquired 2 points in 8 games and finishing 8th the same season. Followed by 2 top 4 finishes in 3 seasons. Really?
You can't fault the players, they worked their socks off.
Why not?Well he wouldn't be able to do that (borrow) next season would he?
Eh? It's always the players fault with Rednapp
Indeed. Which is why Bloom won't bring 'arry here. He'll know he is a shithouse manager who can't work within a reasonable budget.Exactly this. Harry doesn't buy players. Owners do.
except he also spent 150m to get there
And? Alex Fergusson has spent probably 100s of millions. Does that mean he was a bad manager?
No. Promotion at St Mirren along with a title and European success at Aberdeen - all on a shoestring and against comparable or far better resourced clubs - would suggest that he had talent long before he walked into probably the biggest job in the country. And? Alex Ferguson didn't spend it over the same amount of time..............................................
Why not?
He still got them to the champions league. That was his objective. Job done
Isn't the loan system changing to prevent Watford type abuse?
