United so confident, they have brought on Jim Rockford who died 5 years ago.

So its only a foul if you can see it with your eyes live? Show me in the laws where that is stated.
Are you saying you are ok with fouls being commited as long as the ref does not see it? Bullshit. That is bullshit.

I'm saying (quite obviously) that refs have always reffed the game to the best of their ability based on what they see in front of them. Sometimes they get it wrong and it's hugely annoying but normally they are correct but that's always been part of the experience. Var has changed that - I would argue it's made the experience more clinical whilst the people behind monitors decide whether the ref has made the correct decision and we all hold off celebrating or indeed losing our minds whilst they look at the decision in slow motion. Again, it's fine if you value potentially more correct decisions over the excitement and madness of "old" football but it's not for me but if it's for you then great.

Hang on.....your eyes are not always the best.

As many manager shave said Millions of pounds rest on each Premier League point and they want the correct decision, So no one can moan when the decision no one claimed is given by a man miles away with multiple cameras.

Well if it's all about money then by all means use as many cameras and monitors as you like. I don't watch football to see how much money my club makes.

Seems so

Personally I think the person doing var should be an ex pro

Nothing against ex-pros doing it but all you need is someone fully conversant with the laws of the game. This is the only qualification needed. I’m not sure what advantages an ex-pro could bring.

I’d prohibit any person below 5’ 8” from doing it though.

Only if he still lives in Canada

Would I be right in thinking you may have missed my drug ban reference? ???

Perhaps I should omitted the 'a'.....

I am not sure an ex-pro would be better. They were pretty split on our pen yesterday.

I hope it’s never them, they can’t be arsed to learn the laws of the game. Sutton usually thinks everyone’s a diver, whilst Shearer says “well he did invite the challenge” ... examples of the split in their unscientific guessing.

Too far from the sun
Well clearly I'm an Albion fan so a desire to favour the big clubs isn't the reason I hate it. And I have no doubt in my mind the ref wouldn't have given it for Everton either if the roles had been reversed because no one in the ground thought it was a pen, no one appealed. It's a slow motion pen and I don't want the game I watch with my own eyes to be judged by someone sitting miles away watching multiple angles. It's not the match going experience I want.
Well Connolly certainly appealed and although it didn’t look a pen from where I was in WSL, it did seem that quite a few behind the goal in the north we’re going mad about it not being given straight away

Can the refs, under our VAR laws, view what happened on a monitor? IMO the Zaha one today, as well as ours yesterday, wouldn't have been overturned had they been referred to the original ref... Its a huge issue... Refs are gonna see these after and think 'I saw that and stand by my decision'
