Looks like greed is good for the Glazers.

I would love the Albion to be promoted, but the Championship is a far better division in terms of who can possibly win it.

Doesn't this show though that a football club can be run as a business and still be successful instead of having to be bankrolled by a wealthy indiviudal

Sure can. Increasing seat prices to fans, having a payment system that automatically charges your bank account for any home cup matches, being sponsored by corrupt American financial institutions all adds to the bottom line.

i did find it funny how the press/presenters were all making out that man city obviously felt Hargreaves was fit enough to warrant a year contract rather than performance based deal - like this would even be a financial consideration for the owners

They are still running the company on debt though. What was the bond they issued last year/year before? £100,000,000?

floating on the Singapore stock exhange could also expose them in a further financial crisis, so not all great for the club.

I thought they froze tickets prices last year and have only gone up £1 a match this year?

Correct, this was in response to falling numbers of STH's renewing.

If you look at the rise in charges to fans since the Glazers took over, it is considerably faster than inflation, even before taking the automatic cup charges into affect.

United fans are kidding themselves if they think listing in Singapore will be the end of the Glazers, in anything it will just strengthen their made. My road is fully of United plastics, really can't take any of them seriously..

I don't think any true United fans are under illusions.

They know that the Glazers are going to squeeze them until the pips come out.

Aren't the Glazers drawing large, and I mean LARGE, amounts of money out of the club in the form of so-called wages and also using the profits to service the debt. The debt is owed by the club not them, so they're just milking it.
