I went to see 'one man lord of the rings' last year by Charlie Ross, who did 'one man star wars'. That guy s a genius, but his warm up comedian act was just plain awful. Completely unfunny, didn't keep track of how long his set run, didn't tell any original stuff, and then when he had an idea that was close to funny he just laboured it so much it lost its humour. Just the worst comedian I've ever seen in my life. So bad I've blocked his name from my memory.

Lee Evans, I know he sells out and good luck to the lad, he seems a genuine bloke, but leaves me cold.

Agreed. How he got his own show is beyond me. Andy Parsons leaves me cringing on MTW sometimes as well.

Tim Minchin however is superb.

Russell Brand - just don't get it
Lee Evans
John Bishop

All seem to be well representated so far. With all of these, it's not about any offence, I just watch them stony faced like they might as well be reading the shipping forecast.

IMHO? Jim Davidson: goes without saying really, Harry Hill: it never fails to astound me that people find him funny. Al "one joke" Murray. Andy Parsons and Russell Howard, the two worst contributors to MTW. Lee Mack used to make me laugh but his sitcom is dreadful. While Paul Merton is a very smart bloke, he's more and more self indulgent and less & less funny on HIGNFY. And I completely miss the joke with Lee Evans.

Good point about Al Murray, had forgotten him. He actually seems like a really nice bloke, but his routine from what I can tell, consists of standing there shouting as loud as possible, xenophobic rhetoric. Not sure I get the point, but admit I've not sat down and watched that much of it.

I love rubbish comedians. A comic dying on stage always reduces me to tears and hysterical laughter. The worse they are, the better I like them

As controversial as it sounds i don't think women make very good comedians in general for some reason. Unless they are performing to women about women stuff.

Saw one at komedia a few months back who was quite goodthough, but she was a lesbian so has a male mentality so doesn't really count as a funny woman.
