It doesn't matter if the pitch is playable. These days games are called off if the areas around the stadium are deemed to be slightly more slippery and dangerous than the no-win no-fee law firms waiting in the wings for someone to fall over.

Agreed, a thousand people running down a slippery hill to get the train doesn't bode well. Can they even grit a slope?

Oh for the good old days.

I remember going to that match with my dad. My mum stayed in the car with my brother. I remember that day, it was bloody cold.
On the way back I managed to twist their arms and they bought me Input, the computer magazine for my commodore 64

Speaking of which, the steps in the north west corner seem unbelievably slippery all the time. Surprised they haven't sorted this out yet as some goon is bound to sue eventually.

Benefits of us heating, or rather not, were seen at Selhurst. First half playing on the shady side of the pitch Buckley could barely keep his feet. Second half, playing down the wing which had sun during the day, he terrorised Palace.
