What does he actually do?

I’ve seen 2 games in a row he’s started for us in the Premier League and I can’t work out what his strengths are supposed to be. Like what does he actually do out there? He doesn’t seem to be involved.
What does he do? Obviously more than enough in training to make the manager thinks he's worthy of a place in the starting eleven 🤷‍♂️

Decent enough player who is getting better and learning all the time.

He wasn't crap though, was he? Maupay was "OK" at worst, but the team changed it's approach to the point where his contributions diminished. In the end, we moved on but let's not re-write out 2nd top Premier League scorer off as "crap"
Let's leave it at 'disagree'. IMO, Maupay made bad decisions (usually, but not always, deciding to take on something himself rather than team-mate., notably not passing and agreeing he cant take a pen), and executed poorly. He is fondly membered for late goals at Palace, WHU, and Saints, fair enough, but his scoring record was consistently below his Xg. Not a result of system; if he were better player, the team would have been built round him (a la Haaland).

My (genuine!) mate who is Everton fan says they were kippered buying Maupay, and he is universally discredited by the fans. I accept 'crap' is a little unfair, but he never was a PL player.

Better than Locadia is the best thing I can say, he works hard and gets in good positions.

I'd love to be proved wrong, but he strikes me as having little composure in the moment and against pressurising defenders/goalies he fluffs his lines. Either with pathetically weak shots (Bmuff) or he's an expert at heading wide.

Still looks a stone overweight to me. Doesn’t suit his body shape.

Unfortunately I think the premier league might be too quick for him. Think there is a player there but not suited to the English game

Doesn’t have any of the basic attributes or skills, or the natural instinct, or physical requirements for top level. And never will. Hopeless basket case. Get rid.
