He really needed that chance to go in yesterday- sums up his luck since his move. Still think RDZ will get him firing and giving him opportunities

Should have scored with one of those 3 but replays show it actually wasnt as easy as first thought. A good block on the first shot, and after that the keeper/defenders were back in position to make it difficult.

I thought he did well in a first start. Inches away with his triple effort after he made the block himself for the chance, putting that cross in that Welbeck should have got more on and blocking for Mitoma to get his goal off last week. Not a bad introduction

Great control of balls lasted into him I thought, footballs that is. Looked sharp, the triple miss was preceeded by good touch and control - he was unfortunate but I liked what I saw.
Two of those three on his wrong foot as well. Bad miss but hardly abysmal as some would like to make out.

Really promising first league start. Lively and intelligent link up play.
Also agree that he looked much better than Welbz who should have scored twice, once fro great work from Deniz.

The triple miss wasn't great, but thought he had an all-round play was excellent.

If we're going to go two up top v Palace then I hope it's Undav x Ferguson. (although hopefully Lallana is back by then)

Better than Welbeck yesterday i thought.

Both RDZ and Dunk spoke glowingly about him post match, and he gave a good interview himself.
Not that Welbeck was poor, but I totally agree. His involvement in general play was very good, and he set up Welbz for 1 good chance. His control and 1st touch is very good.

He will get more chances and will score.

Had a headcase near me in WSL repeatedly screaming at him to 'f*** off back to USG' 🫠

I thought he did well on the whole. The triple miss was unfortunate but his overall play was good. Must have been doing something right in training as well to get the nod. Would be interesting to see him play alongside Fergie.

OK, so, at the time, I’ll admit, following the triple miss I FINALLY wrote him off.

I was aghast for what felt like a life time in the moment. I have held out hope for him consistently since he joined, optimistically thinking he needed a ‘start’ at the very least and realistically a good run in the team before being judged as harshly as most, BUT, watching it back it was actually really tricky/unfortunate for him…didn’t we witness Maupay fluff far easier opportunities every game? Their keeper/defender both did REALLY well! It was a lot tougher for him than it appeared in the moment that’s for sure

His general all round play was great Infact as many have said, held up the ball really well, created opportunities and brought others into play, BUT, was it just me, or did he look absolutely knackered before we even got to half time?

Perhaps he just seemed so, when Infact he was in truth utterly deflated after his triple miss?

Either way, Fnck It! IMO after that post game interview I am optimistic and hopeful again and I won’t be getting on his case!

Maupay and Connolly both went through a period where they were missing the target from easier positions.

Yesterday he got three decent shots away in 5 seconds.
Nothing he could do about the first one (good block) The other two could have been better, but decent attempts.
No shame in it.

As others have said, he had some lovely touches around the box, which were very encouraging.
Once his luck turns and he starts playing with confidence, I think we'll have a very different view on him.

If De Zerbi can do to him, what he's done to Solly, it could be a very eventful second half of the season.
