not here to slag off someone who didn't play today, but it is a bit concerning that we were chasing a goal for most of the match and still the only other striker we have didn't come on. is he THAT ill suited to the way RDZ wants to play?

Careful! I suggested something similar the other day, and was well and truly taken to task by a certain poster!

Can’t believe he wasn’t given a chance and brought on as sub. Welbeck never looked like scoring. He must be not rated

You’d think he must surely be given an opportunity soon

Welbeck seems to miss a couple of gilt-edged chances every game. I rate him as a player and wouldn't advocate dropping him necessarily, despite the stinker today, but I'd like to see Undav or even Ferguson given a go up there with him.

Undav must be miles off the level is all I can conclude. Any half decent options would have got 15 mins tonight.

It is still too early, but yeah not a great sign obviously... but could also be purely tactical as I don't think the game fitted him, no space whatsoever in their penalty area.

I'm getting a little horny about Evan Ferguson however, his aerial ability could do some good stuff in games like this.

Wasn't Connelly great in the reserves and we all got excited about him?

Looks like his career is over here. Probably end up on loan at a championship club in January, maybe one that's chasing promotion will take a punt on him.

Not sure if undav will get his chance any time soon.
Or Connelly, ever again.

He was talking about aerial ability in particular - and Ferguson at 17 is already 3 inches taller than Connolly - who wasn't especially noted for headed goals anyway; Ferguson is a fine header of the ball.

yep would certainly like to see one of undav or ferguson get some significant game time against arsenal in the cup. or both maybe?

Starting with Brentford next week, Brighton got 3 games in 8 days and I don't think Welbeck will start all of them. While I could see Trossard going on top with Mitoma coming in the starting eleven, I also think there is a good chance we'll see one of Undav or Ferguson getting a decent amount of minutes.

If he wasn’t at USG we’d never have signed him. Slightly uncomfortable the way it has panned out so far

Not been given a chance yet ! Or have I missed something ?
Perhaps he s a lazy bugger in training But it does seem odd he s not got time on the pitch

Bloody hell. The clocks don't go back for 3 weeks and we're already writing him off. Granted, the lack of game time suggests he's not banging on the door but he's still on the bench every week. Enciso or Ferguson would take his spot if he really was a total lemon.

Just realised who I'm replying to :ffsparr:

Agree , his style is more similar to Wellbeck than is Undav's so a better fit and worth a try. Wellbeck leads the line well but he has to score some of the chances he is missing at the moment.
