Quite. People never, EVER, speak the words 'English Premier League', but the Premier League is regularly abbreviated as 'EPL'. Never understood that, there aren't many other 'Premier Leagues' that it could be confused with.

And the need to say it so many times in that article, why?

It's not an article it's a native advert for Betfair.

The repeated use of terms like EPL are for SEO purposes.

Most days I receive approaches from individuals and companies apparently falling over themselves to write an article for NSC that will be tailored to our topic and tone of voice. Oh, and they'll just include a link or two as part of that.

Needless to say, I always just delete these approaches.

"Leonardo Ulloa, who signed with Leicester City last July after a season and a half in Brighton".

Last July? Lazy journalism. :dunce:

I suppose EPL sounds on-trend and if you're not much of a football person you don't realise it also sounds a bit naff. It's like the American Express suits who call the Albion 'BHAFC'.

Wouldn't it be more fun if you said yes to the odd one and then we all took the piss / corrected the poor grammar / pretended to be interested in vagisol?

Are they anticipating that a lot of people outside of the UK will read that article?

They don't think anyone will read the article and they don't care. It's simply a device to generate a couple of links to bet fair from a site which might suggest to Google that betfair is a credible football site. Google is smart enough these days to see through this very thin ruse.

Why do people care about this shit. Sponsor names should just be ignored. Give it a decade or so and even the Amex wont be called the Amex.

Lrt's just sit back and enjoy the Coca-cola Championship.
