I'm sure despite these losses they could afford to cover the costs, but in the real world it isn't that simple.

It will lead to further falls in their profits. This will impact on their shares, and when shares start to fall, companies act to show the market and their investors that the losses will be stopped. Costs will be cut, and this often means job losses, and not in the boardroom, where they all get bonuses for saving money by sacking staff, or changing the staff structures for more low paying, part time jobs that get their staff costs down to compensate for the loss of profit. It's the people who are struggling to get by as it is on minimum (or close to minimum) wage jobs.

I'm really sorry but I don't believe this. Can you provide any evidence that it isn't just one more straight banana story?

No, I don't have any records. The person who works there is my daughter and this is what she has been told when asked why they can't give the food away at the end of the day.

I don't make the rules.

Fine, well in that case some middle-manager at Greggs is making it up. People say what they want to say and people believe what they want to believe. It's a free country.

I always thought it was kind of strange that a Conservative Prime Minister signed us into Europe.

What could have possibly convinced Edward Heath to do such a thing?

...

There's something of the 'fog in channel, continent isolated' about a lot of anti-EU sentiment. Many people who are absolutely certain we should come out are confused why every prime minister since Wilson, not to mention most of Britain's business leaders and assorted outsiders such as US president after US president, think the opposite. I actually heard someone arguing that the only reason Cameron wanted us to stay in because he liked blagging overseas trips from the taxpayer.

I'm not confused, every British PM since Wilson (with exception of Callaghan) has been acting in complete concert with the interests of British business leaders. U.S. Presidents will do the same...........they are all CAPITALISTS.

The EU has been designed by CAPITALISTS to work the way it does so that it can deliver arrangements like TTIP.

You can't carve bronze from wood, and on TTIP we have an issue which Nigel Farage and Jeremy Corbyn both agree on.

I can understand why some of the younger pro Labour Party and pro EU supporters are confused..............it's been a long time coming.

Fears are growing in the British supermarket industry about the possible introduction of a backwards European law. But I'm pretty sure the Torries will protect the interests of British businesses, thus protecting us all. Get this in France they have a law that means excessive food that is perfectly edible and can't be sold, can't be put in a bin and covered with bleach! It has to and here is the sickening part, given to charities!

You're flying the wrong kite try this one for size...........

To answer your question directly..........yes they were.
