The Detectorists is just LOVELY isn't it. Brilliantly acted and written but let me try and think of a quote from it now........hmmm

To me, Father Ted should be key challenger for the title.

Speed 3 and the Eurovision episode might be my 2 favourite comedy episode ever.

Speed 3 was a touch overrated in my view. Still funny though.

But the one where he goes on holiday to a proper shite caravan, it pisses down, "those are small but those are far away" and Graham Norton as Father Noel turning up and making all his chums do the River Dance.

Or the one where Father Jack smashes up the raffled car.

Such a shame that these two were drawn against each other. I had to go for Father Ted but I love the gentleness of the Detectorists (not Metal Detectors !)

I have never fully warmed to Father Ted.
I doubt I have watched a complete series.

Detectorists I have re-watched so many times.

Detectorists will lose because it isn't an out and out comedy,
But it is superb.

The Detectorists has it for me. Best thing that’s been on telly for an age.

It helps that it got me through many a long night when my Dad was in his final weeks.

Can’t really remember watching much Father Ted. Think it was first broadcast as I was discovering pubs. I remember one with lots of rabbits. But that’s about it. All looked a bit bleak.
