UK unemployment total reaches 17-year high

I graduated in 2009 and this is my life! I'd love something more perminant but I'm happy to be working and earning money in an industry I love.

No one seems to want illustrators anymore. Well, at least, not this one anyway.

Not saying wrong but just out of interest, what figures do you base that on? Are there really that many in training schemes?

Its a very complexed system which has many scheme's to further training,these schemes i feel are hiding the true figures.

JSA is one,as once claimed many go on training courses so these are not counted as unemployed in the system.

How anyone can't find the pattern between governments and unemployment is beyond me. Tories demand a top heavy system and so far they're loving it.

one of the many here..........being doing bits and bobs for a few publications, but starting off in journalism and trying to actually earn money from it is proving to be pretty f***ing difficult, so i'm basically doing a lot of slave labour, with the odd bit of paid work here and there until I can nail a contact into giving me a proper job

oh well, keep plodding along I guess!
