Brighton / Hove actually
Bored of it all now, social media has got really dull and over run with desperate hipsters striving to prove they are compassionate people but I guarantee 80% or them have not and have no intention of donating or helping out. Brighton's trendiest are setting up benefit evenings left right and centre to jump on the bandwagon, burlesque evenings getting on board for goodness sakes. Basically stripping for chubby goths.
All very last week.

Anyone with a concern other than self promotion should be pointing people and themselves to the British Red Cross now or years ago to help directly. Most of the money raised in venue events goes out in expenses anyway.

There is a local charity, I will not name, who do regular events and the money raised basically covers their expenses, venue hire and wages.

Their target market for income are the middle class to very wealthy, who spend lots of money just to see and to be seen to be there.

I have a friend with impeccable liberal credentials on the subject of immigration. He likes to lose himself walking in the Lake District. I told him that the population of the UK is projected to increase to 80 million by 2060 and that, if the projection is accurate, his beloved Lake District will evolve into a mountainous version of Milton Keynes. He did not appreciate the comment, but people need to be told what are the consequences of the policies that they advocate.

About 7% of the UK is developed, eg buildings, roads etc. our population is 65m so a rise to 80m would mean a 25% increase in population. I estimate, worst case, that means the our beatiful land would then be developed on a total of less than 9%. That would not require any building on the Lake District. Does mean Scotland has to pull its weight though

Don't worry too much he has probably had a bit of a think about it and realised it is nonsense.

as Hampster Gull notes, there is plenty of land in and around the current developed land that can be used before we need to start looking at changing the scenery of the man-made Lake District.

What about for every refugee we accept, we send someone who has previously appeared on the Jeremy Kyle show to war torn syria?

A better idea imo, seeing as Andy Choudary stated he would go to Syria, 2/3 planes with him and his followers dropped just across the Syrian border, and the planes come back with genuine refugees on board from that point. It could be a secret pre arranged/undercover operation.

I said this to a friend the other day, a mass cull of everyone that's appeared on Jeremy Kyle the last ten years, imagine how much space that'd free up!

Surely as some are worried about who we are going to get on our shores, is it really fair to send these people the other way.
Plenty of room for genuine asylum seekers and plenty more room for honest hard working people, I've actually solved the problem!
Now all we've gotta do is start rounding up the scumbags!

Oh I'm not talking about sending them the other way, I'm talking about mass genocide here lol

Nige on the BBC earlier today after Juncker was all jizzed out.

This crisis could do with more honest speaking like this in understanding why Europe is failing to get a grasp

Farage spot on again. Why is it so difficult to work out, even for this BBC presenter. Europe doesn't have the resources to deal with millions of people and junker is basically opening the door. Should have stopped the boats as soon as they started turning up on European soil 5 years ago.
