I would accept all those from the Middle East except muslims .

I would accept all of those travelling with small children ahead of all others out of common humanity. I would then judge all others based on need rather than ability to jump a queue or pay a trafficker.

Bloody hell folks. We need to go in and settle ISISs shit for them. It won't stop until the world realise that this "flood" of migrants sitting freezing under blankets in Slovenia holding their kids is our collective problem. Just shutting ourselves off is not an option. We have to stop them running away in the first place.
you are a sucker for "media coverage " stop them leaving Turkey would be a start

I would accept one for every 5 thrown out. Illegals, criminals etc. Then the emphasis would be on the ones who want to let
them in to speed up the "room making"process for them

With about an estimated 1 million illegals here theres room for potentially 200K plus refugees for starters, get cracking lefties.

If we hadn't had mass immigration over the last decade + the view of taking genuine refugees might be more charitable with the vast majority, sadly the cynical/criminal incompetence of government policy has led to the inevitable shut the door mentality. Where is the democratic mandate for changing this countries population to a world refugee camp ?

How can a country face legal action for not accepting Economic Migrants / Refugees. It should be up to the people of that country to decide who they let in.

I would be interested to see what this legal action actually entails, I suppose the EU would threaten certain countries of expulsion from the EU or not getting financial help.
It just shows us what a bunch of bullies the EU are.

Meanwhile some of those on the way..

Slovenia is being overwhelmed by the migrant crisis, particularly in the small town of Brezice where the local mayor has likened the situation to a warzone and called on Germany to intervene.

Brezice sits right on the border of Slovenia and Croatia, which in recent days has become the focus of the migrant crisis in the region. In the last 24 hours alone more than 12,000 migrants have crossed into Slovenia, with thousands more expected to follow.

The mayor of Brezice, 52-year-old Ivan Molan, has been interviewed by the German news magazine Der Spiegel about the effect the crisis is having on his town. He described the current situation as the biggest loss of control and largest state of emergency of his ten-year tenure.

It has been alleged by the likes of the BBC that a lack of water and food, coupled with a delay in processing, led to angry scenes with migrants setting fire to the tents in which they were housed. The mayor, however, gives another explanation.

Mr. Molan showed his interviewer a picture on his cell phone of discarded bread and other food lying on the ground. He explained:

“We organise food and water. But some refugees refuse it in order to increase the pressure, so we let them move on. 50 to 100 Slovenian assistants are available around the clock. The system does not work perfectly, but it works. The best proof is that there were no major conflicts.”

The interviewer pointed out that although there may have been no major acts of violence, over half the tents intended to house the migrants had been set of fire. Mr. Molan responded:

“That’s the way many refugees force their onward journey. Some take selfies before the burning tents [as reported yesterday by Breitbart London]. If I were in their place I would be happy to be in a safe country and have a drink and get to eat. But they are not satisfied with what they have.”

Mr. Molan said his town is in the vicinity of a nuclear power plant and is hit by occasional flooding and even the odd earthquake, but the impact of the migrant crisis is “much more serious”. He says it restricts the life of everyone in the community, both the 24,000 inhabitants and the authorities who have to deal with it.

Furthermore, Mr. Molan says that he fears Austria’s decision to close its borders as he believes Slovenia cannot cope alone. In his opinion, if the German government is sincere in its welcome to refugees then it should send trains to collect those in Croatia, alleviating their suffering.

Mr. Molan believes that realistically Slovenia can only house “2,000 people, nothing more” citing the country’s relative economic weakness and ability of local communities to integrate newcomers. He wants the remaining migrants to travel to countries with stronger economies.

The recent decision of the Slovenian government to amend the law in order to allow the army to help police the border will not solve the crisis, Mr. Molan said. He pointed out that they are only there to assist the police with registering the migrants and that will do nothing to prevent trouble coming into the country. He offered his suggested solution:

“We must resolve the crisis in Syria and the other countries refugees come from. The [European Union] must step up its efforts for peace in Syria and support Turkey and Greece in dealing with the situation.”

Mr. Molan ended by giving a stark warning of the consequences of failure to solve the migrant crisis:

“Sooner or later, more than a million refugees will have come to the EU. This could shatter the international community.

These people are so rude and disrespectful to some of these countries. No country should be put in this position in the first place.
I would happily like to see lots of these people camping outside the mansions of some of these EU bureaucrats and some of the politicians here, the ones who keep telling everyone else they are not doing enough.

Brighton / Hove actually

Agree. Although there are instances of some children who are possibly travelling with non relatives.

On Panorama's - Europe's Border Crisis: The Long Road http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b06g01kf/panorama-europes-border-crisis-the-long-road

At 27:40 there is one injured child (broken jaw) travelling with 13 men with one claiming to be his dad and was resistant to hospital treatment.

Why are they unhappy?. If they are migrants then they chose to leave their country, if they were refugees then surely Paris is better than where they have escaped from. I take it these are migrants that have been in Paris for quite some time, have found their feet and now want to implement their way of life.
So as was stated long ago, genuine refugees need help, these migrants need to go.

We only " have a duty, as citizens of the world" to help those in genuine need, "we have a duty" to look after the law abiding citizens that live here....
Also shows up the BBC reporting as well. No surprise there then.

A DOCTOR working in German hospitals has revealed the horrifying chaos which could face the NHS if thousands of migrants from the Middle East manage to reach Britain.
The female anaesthetist said the German health service has been completely overwhelmed by the influx of Muslim asylum-seekers who are REFUSING to be treated by female medics.

In a furious outburst the experienced doctor said hospitals simply cannot cope because so many of the migrants require treatments for diseases long since eradicated in Europe.
She also shockingly claimed migrant parents are abandoning their children at pharmacies across the country after being told that they have to pay a prescription charge for lifesaving drugs.
She also claimed huge numbers of the asylum-seekers have Victorian diseases including TB, which they risk passing on to locals.

Meanwhile, German authorities have been forced to post police at hospitals around the country after others got involved in angry clashes with medics over cultural differences.
The doctor, who wished to remain anonymous, wrote to the press back home in the Czech Republic to express her shock at the "unsustainable" situation which she says is now affecting the medical care received by taxpaying Germans.
She said: "Clinics cannot handle emergencies, so they are starting to send everything to the hospitals.
"Many Muslims are refusing treatment by female staff. Relations between the staff and migrants are going from bad to worse.
"Since last weekend, migrants going to the hospitals must be accompanied by police with K-9 units.
"Many migrants have AIDS, syphilis, open TB and many exotic diseases that we, in Europe, do not know how to treat them.

I saw that, it's disgusting isn't it. As if migration wasn't bad enough Merkel nailed the final in the coffin for the whole of Europe now. Europe is going to eventually get wrecked and dragged in to everyone's religious and political problems.

You watch, Germany will one day get its first Islamic politicial party, and everything will be done in the interests of that religion and nobody else. People must seriously be living on another planet if they can't see what is going on here.

I think many can see what is going on. This survey suggests that support for staying in the EU is falling.

Trust across the regions of the UK in the EU is now lower than in any other member state bar the Czech Republic, detailed analysis of new figures has revealed.

The Eurobarometer survey found that trust in Brussels is below the European average in 11 out of 12 of the regions of the UK, with only London – barely – surpassing the average.
The authoritative findings – the first time the Eurobarometer survey has polled public opinion on the subject since 2012 – comes ahead of the British referendum on exiting the EU, due to be held before the end of 2017.

All topped off with the knowledge that there are a billion more living in poverty and conflict who will migrate gradually north and west as the years go by.....I thank all those responsible, who by opening up my country and my community to this tidal wave, have ensured that my children and their children as yet unborn, will live in a fractured and unsustainable system.

There is some evidence that it was deliberate policy of New Labour to open the doors for ideological, electoral as well economic reasons. If true they have a hell of a lot to answer for.
