I love Gavin and Stacey - it is the ultimate in 'in-joke' comedy. If you don't follow the story from the start, you are unlikey to get many of the jokes.

Should be a decent competition. Does the winner qualify to take on international comedies?

Plans afoot for a US Comedy Cup as well... perhaps some kind of UK v US Ryder Cup after that?

It has been admitted elsewhere that there are some glaring omissions in this, the first attempt,at a Comedy World Cup. For me I think that we should have had Dad's Army, Steptoe and Son, 'Allo 'Allo and Rising Damp amongst others. So, in a way the first winner will wear a hollow crown. However, let us not forget that the first Football World Cup was contested by a meagre 13 invited teams. I'm sure that after initial errors this will become a NSC annual highlight.

The "errors" are down to people not NOMINATING and SECONDING the shows they wanted in this tournament. NSC's collective fault, nothing to do with me. If those shows were campaigned for, they would've made it in.
