Sanchez doesn't get into the Chelsea team ahead of Mendy, plus they already have an expensive reserve in Kepa, they are not going to spend 70-80m on yet another keeper, unless they offload one of those, and Sanchez isn't going to risk his International position that he's just earned sitting on the bench at Chelsea when he's first team here.

I am more interested that Winstanley stayed when Potter arrived with Macauley, Bloom & Barber must trust him and view him as an integral part of the system. We have to remember that many of the superstar signings were made or at least identified before Potter arrived. Chelsea may try and sign some of our players within the next 12 months but succession planning is our strong point

To get 6 members of our staff all lined up in a row, will have taken weeks of negotiations.
Potter is truly a duplicitous character and void of any moral worth.

I think Arteta should be included, although he wasn’t the manager he did go back to his former club for Jesus and Zinchenko this summer. It isn’t common but it does happen, especially if your name is Micky Adams.

It does help to explain why Tuchel has been significantly more arsey this season.
The writing has clearly been on the wall for him on the day the new chairman took over.
How can you manage properly when you already know that Potter was in place behind your back.

No need to move, no change of workmates, just different players to work with, well even one of those new players you have worked with all last year. Bruno will chop his Porsche in for a minibus and they can all ride together to training.
I will admit that it seems likely that Potter had prior notice that they liked him and had maybe already said to his coaches that there may be a possibility so to have a think about it, but not long negotiations over wages and conditions etc. I suspect TB and PB were aware of the possibility too, but nothing agreed beyond what the release fee would be, before Tuchel was released.

One of the stories I read about Tuchel and Todd was a disagreement over Ronaldo, Todd wanted to sign him and Tuchel did not, this story seems to have come from Todd too, I think he thought it would make him look smart and Tuchel silly. Similarly with Billy Gilmour, Todd wanted to send him out on loan so they could keep him as one for the future, but Tuchel had to explain to him that the player was on his last year of contract and wont sign a new one.
I really hope he stuffs up the DOF appointment with someone he doesn't trust in the end, and starts meddling in things he should leave alone, or better still, break his word to Potter and just carry on trying to do the job himself.
Sanchez and Caicedo would be on their way anyway - it doesn't really matter if they go to Chelsea or elsewhere.
I had had a glimmer of hope that we could get Mac Allister and Trossard to extend contracts, but I think this has now somewhat diminished. Shame. Veltman could also now be less likely to extend. Shame again.

I would actually expect it to be the names not listed here. More a Dunk or Veltman. Their CBs are the area they need some more bodies and have their elder statesmen. Caicedo or Ali Mac after a year or 18 months might enter the bidding though true if continue to improve.
I really wouldn't worry.
Chelsea have spent a whack and have a number of rather talented players who already fit the mould. I don't think Chelsea fans would be impressed if GP was signing Brighton players over players from other existing CL clubs.
Many Chelsea fans aren't very impressed about Tuchel being replaced with Potter!
I agree about Sanchez and Caicedo. The rest, I think, depends on who comes in as the new coach. It might just be the case that they also like the new bloke and, if we stay roughly on track, will be no more likely to jump ship.
Yeah but how many of those clubs had an owner who said I won't stand in the way of any player leaving if they want to ? which is an open invitation to have your best players / manager poached.

I think not. In La Liga, where release clauses are apparently mandatory in all player contracts, Benzema has his at €1 billion.
