Ughhh the thing that makes a already shit England senior and U21 side even worse is all the media attention. Most other countries don't give a shit about u21's but we make a massive thing of it with pundits talking about how good we are. This all just makes it when we inevitably fail even worse.
I wasn't too far out. As I have previously said, these clueless idiots will slot seamlessly into the senior squad when their time comes. They just need to work on their excuses a little more, I've not heard them blame someone or something for their failure yet. Come on lads, it's obviously not your deficiencies, was the ball too round? Climate not to your liking?

Really? The Spanish make big things about winning things at youth level and the Germans go on about how the bulk of their last world cup team were the same that did well in the u21s.

Not strictly true though is it. Back 4 looked good until the last 5 minutes anyway, and we were without Wilshire. If Wellbeck, Sinclair, Cleverly (sp?), Albrighton become England regulars I will be very shocked

Gibbs, Richards, Wilshere and Carroll all not playing. Bit of perspective.
Still, good for the kids to prepare for the senior squad and all the hype, disappointment and early exits that major tournaments invariably bring. Go England!

I thought Sinclair was very good when given the ball tonight. The back four were really rather good; makes you think how strong the back of United will be for years to come! Sinclair works better with Swansea who play the passing game, but I think Pearce wasn't trying to play like Swansea, Brighton, Arsenal etc.

Yes, but its not just personnel its the way you play the game....we are agricultural at best...we have 3 touches on the ball when good sides play one touch...playing long ball up for the big man up front & work for the second ball...football has moved on & we haven't...thank god the golf is on otherwise that footie would have been depressing!
On the basis of that performance that team wouldn't win the Paralympics.
