Their latest album is decent, but they're leaning heavily on OneRepublic hitmaker Ryan Tedder for the hooks and melodies. It's not really them anymore.

First time I saw U2 was at the old Marquee Club in Wardour Street. They can't have been long off the boat, maybe 'Boy' hadn't even been released, but they were massive NME darlings already. Went with me bruv, who taped the whole show on a mini cassette recorder, as was our practice at the time. No sooner had we left the building than he promptly got mugged for aforementioned mini cassette recorder. Sake!

Who saw them at Jenkinson's in 1981? Support was the Comsat Angels as I recall. Saw the reunion gig in Sheffield a few years back (Comsats I mean). As Mark Kermode has said on several occasions, the Comsats were the better band.
