A squad lacking in DEPTH and QUALITY, only rumours are OUT not in and less than TWO weeks to kick off, doesn't look like we will be anywhere near a Top 2 spot this season

Yep ..we should sell half of them ..carrying too much emotional baggage from last years let down of a season

The existing squad were woeful in the play-offs. What we have wasn't good enough.

In order to be better than that you need to find higher quality players to pick before the ones who couldn't get it done last season.

We finished 3rd last season and now you're confident we'll be top 6. That's not suggesting we've improved at all.

We were two goals off auto promotion over the WHOLE season of games. Or put another way we were about 4 minutes from auto promotion with the Burnley 2-2 draw.

Would Paul Winstanley really make bemused tweets if he hadn't already completed much of his work? Perhaps it's all done and dusted and we're planning another amazing media roll-out.

So in order to match Newcastle and Norwich we need to add better quality players then.

I'm not negative, i'm logical and realistic.

Logic says if we weren't good enough last season then by adding very little to the same squad we won't be beating the top teams, we'll be dragged back into the middle of the table pack.

No, you're negative. We don't have the riches either of those two do, why would we?

You can look elsewhere and think the grass is greener if you want, or you can stick around and back the Albion. Up to you.

So we were good for 25 minutes out of 180. And lost comprehensively to the 6th best side.

It's not Championship Mananger, this is real life and in real life you need to spend money to improve your squad. Not add a single journeyman striker on loan.

Harsh on Murray. He's scored goals at this level.

If we start the season with Murray and Hemed up front, with Baldock as back up then that is fine. My only concern for the next couple of weeks is centre half. Striker needs to be signed but it can be any time over the next six weeks.

I find it embarrassing some of the reactions on here. The new setup with Winstanley heading it up has done well so far. Why can't people trust them for now rather than spending the whole time moaning.

As for 25 minutes, we played okay at Hillsborough but were disrupted by injuries. Most teams would struggle losing two key players on half an hour and then two more early in the second half. At home, we weren't just good for 25 minutes, we were amazing. But the manner of their goal knocked us back and Wednesday may have come sixth but they were hard to break down.

Exactly. And, with the current side, we were comfortably second in the second half of the season, even though we had a bad start to it with three straight defeats. I don't understand the negativity. How many teams can truly say they've got their full squad completed already?

Top 6 will be a push - can't see top 2

On what basis? We could get 15 less points than last season and still get top 6. The division is not that much stronger and we are significantly stronger than this time last season when we didn't have Goldson, Huhnemeier (although obviously he won't be back for a while), Knockaert, Murphy, Skalak, Sidwell and Murray.

How many teams can say they've not spent a cent on transfer fees on first squad players?

We can.

A fair number I imagine. I think Derby have only signed one player for example. Most of them also weren't as strong as us to begin with.

Also, I'm confused. Are you saying that signings like Rosenior, Bong and Zamora didn't count last year as they were free transfers?

I'm saying last season we added players who were better than what we had before. Notice how that allowed us to improve the season just gone?

Logic says if you replace players you already have with better ones your team improves, as such, we've hardly improved this offseason.

Tend to agree with you. He leaves himself open to questions from some if we are still some way from any inbound.

Do you not understand how much harder it is to improve on players who came third than players who came 20th. It is quite simple. We have to be patient to get the right players.

This time last year we had only signed Bong, Rosenior, Hemed and Maenppa and I bet people like you were moaning then too. We signed a number of players in August and it didn't impact our start. I'm not guaranteeing it will happen again, and honestly would rather we had a couple more signings by now, but this constant moaning and whinging on here by some is tiresome.

Wrong. I'm not normally one of the doom and gloom crew. I'm realistic.

I just hear all this guff from TB saying after missing out on promotion that his amibtion is now stronger than ever to get us to the PL. I'm not seeing that in what we've done in the off season so far.

Until something happens that proves otherwise then i'll hold to my current view.

I don't class holding onto the players we have anything remarkable. They are all under contract so they can't just walk on us to another club.

Not interested at all in football at the moment. Football mean "winter" and I'm just not ready for that yet. Push it back another month and guarantee us a steady period of sunshine.

I have absolutely no idea who we have signed or sold over the summer, no idea at all, and no current interest. I'll catch up later.

If you say so. Are you suggesting we're not a lot stronger than we were this time last year?
