I think Sanchez was on Temazepam last night, he didn't even flinch for either goals.
Dunk clearing off the goal line against Fulham, saved us a certain defeat.
last night has everything to do with us dominating yet another game without scoring the relevant number of goals to win
It's not as though the team play bad in fact they played very well, Palase were difficult to break down because they set themselves up to make it so.
We play lovely stuff but I have been saying for weeks now that our problem is the transition phase from midfield to attack basically it's to slow.
Look at Leeds they turn the ball over and players flood into the box any of the midfielders gets the ball the other midfielders run forward looking for empty space and the forwards are on the shoulders of the last man, defenders are now caught between taking the forward running midfielders or the cross field running forwards then bang a ball in a forward space now everyone midfield towards all flood forward to attack the space or ball and if they get a sight on goal it taken early as the first touch should be to shoot
Was checking this morning. Benteke goal XG was 0.03 i.e. 3% chance he buries that.
I know it doesn't make any difference. I know both those touches were goals. I know that means they won and we lost.
However, is there any stat-age out there regarding the fewest touches in the opposition's box in Premier League history? Has a side ever bettered (worsened?) last night's shit show?
I would kill for two touches two goals. How often do we see a first time strike from our forwards. Really needs to be coached into them.

I'm getting the impression it's been coached out of them.
PL is obviously much quicker than Championship, players like MAupay and before him Knockhaert have not adapted well to the change, not just physical, but mentally.

Nothing the Albion 'achieves' will ever surprise me. After all we managed to lose 2-0 to Norwich in 2017 and they didn't even have a shot on target.

Unique!
What it means, IMHO, is this new fangled "xG" stat is absolute bollocks.
As Hodgson said, its only about how many goals each team scores.
We don't score enough. Full stop.
Unlucky.
The game reminded me a little bit of the match at Selhurst in 2019. We had all the play, possession, stats and shots but managed to lose the game 1-2.
Seem to remember the little french rat should have been sent off early doors but the ref bottled it, Then went on to score a cracking goal to win it 1-2 with your 2nd or 3rd shot on target, Way it goes sometimes eh.
By the way I'm still smiling now, Some way to win a game that Probably see you next season when we can get some fans along to enjoy the games.
