Two taps versus one mixer tap

Can anyone give me just one good reason why we persist in still making kitchen sinks and wash-basins in the UK with two tap holes? Or why anyone would buy them

There is no single argument that can be made in support of having two taps.

Oh, I like putting the plug in and trying to get the right temperature as the basin fills up. Yeah, right!

It looks better / is more traditional / we've always done it that way ... bollocks!

Mixer tap. Turn it on. Adjust the temperature. Bingo!

You have to have two holes for the two pipes.

What if a washer needs replacing? Which one?
Easy with 2 taps.

kitchen sinks are cut as you please arent they? there is one good reason for old school 2x single taps, less complex meaning cheaper and less likly to have a fault.
