I shook hands* this morning with my new neighbour, who is an FA Cup winner.

No clues - 20 yes/no questions to work out who he is (I'll number my answers).

* And immediately washed them, of course.

Did he win the English FA Cup?

Come on, it's got to be Peter Reid.

One, because of the Cheer Up Peter Reid song.

And two, because of the other song about his Monkey's Heid.

And all the other clues.

Sorry. No OB on this thread.

Next you'll be saying, "Look, just give us the name and we can all go home and have a nice cup of tea?"

I thought you'd said no to Everton and now I see you haven't

Who's the only member of the Royle Family to have played football for England ? (It doesn't work so well written down, does it ?)

Post #79 - no, he didn't play for Everton.

That is THE FA Cup, isn't it? Not a trick question.

Ha-ha - it was "I'm a Believer", not "Daydream Believer"!

You said you were going to Sainsbury's at 19.20 and were posting again at 19.59. So my questions are:
How far is Sainsbury's from your house?
This presumably wasn't a big shop, so was it an emergency shop or do you not believe in a weekly big shop?
Is Sainsbury's your supermarket of choice, or just your nearest supermarket?

About two miles - and it was click and collect. We usually walk to Tesco or Waitrose.

From the 1950s?

He must be old if that's the case

And I think I know who it is ... if it is the 50s

Answer in white

Bill Leivers

Ah. Just saw you gave the same answer.

We have a winner! Yeah, played with Don Revie in the famous Bert Trautmann final.

Only had a brief chat, but he seems like a nice old chap (now 88). The neighbour's house is called "Etihad ", and ours used to be called "Trafford".
