Very few funny comedians around nowadays, pretty much everyone that's appeared on 8 out of 10 cats is not funny

There’s a fine line between what is clever and what is actually funny.

There very little out there which is laugh out loud funny. I love the likes of The Office and Curb Your Enthusiasm but they make me smile and cringe, not actually laugh.

The last comedy I can think of that actually made me laugh was probably Only Fools and Horses.

I know it’s NSC’s bread and buttocks, but I can’t stand that crap, and all the schoolboy salivating over the bland and irritating Rachel Riley.

Some of the best comedy writing often comes from shows that aren’t comedies imho, and because you’re not watching it for the comedy it hits you more effectively. The interaction between Mike and Harvey in the excellent Suits for example. Mockumentary shows like This Country have had their day (again imho) because that road is too well travelled now and it all feels a bit ‘done before.’

Slowly losing the will to live as in an effort to be sociable I have have sat through Gogglebox (for pity's sake WHY) and now Ant and Dec. I will welcome reccomendations for something that will make me LOL and that is easily got at via the usual streaming sites.

Whilst I acknowledge that shows like This Country and Detectorists are well made they don't actually raise a chortle that the likes of Father Ted or even viewing old Harry Enfield shows do.

Over to you.

Try watching Michael McIntyre or Mrs Browns Boys, that'll cheer you up :shootself

Friday night dinner about to start a new series this month.

Didn't think I would get into Man like Mobeen, but then binge watched it. Not really laugh out loud funny, but well written.

Channel 4's I-Player is your friend here.

Plenty of classics, Toast, Ted, IT Crowd, Inbetweeners etc.

Derry Girls, Black Books, plus a whole host of American stuff, Seinfeld Community, 30 Rock.

Yep, having watched this episode probably half a dozen times, and even though I know the answer, Bob makes it so believable that I am almost as genuinely surprised as David Mitchell when the truth is revealed...

Uproariously funny!

If you haven’t seen this before, watch to the very end. If you don’t laugh out loud, you’re probably dead...

Thank you, I hadn’t seen that before and it has brought tears! Brilliant!

Would I Lie To You is generally very good and Mortimer is one of the funniest and most likeable people on TV.

Anthony Jeselnik - Fire in maternity ward, stand up show on Netflix left me in bits. Not for the faint hearted.

Totally agree re Gogglebox - why anybody in their right mind wants to watch other people watching telly? Who does this appeal to? The amoeba generation?
