Doesn't really change the fact our stewards (at least in the north stand) are a bunch of uneducated police rejects looking for a fight though does it.

was taken today at the Sunderland game some one band for standing.

The stewards at the Amex are great , they only ask people to sit if there are fans behind them sitting i do not see a problem with that, but the club must bear in mind the fans in the north that have been asked to sit do not sing that is why the atmosphere is poor. With only a 3rd of the North stand standing and singing no great atmosphere is ever going to be created

I think bands should be banned, standing or not-I'm with Sunderland on this one.

If the whole north stand stand up for an entire match... What would happen then.??

Not sure. At a guess, some would get picked on and possibly banned and the majority would get away with it..... for a while.

As Clint Eastwood would say. "Do you feel lucky?"

Just out of interest. How long does it take you to get down from Leeds on a matchday?

About 30mins in our private jet, Leeds/Bradford > Shoreham and then down the A27, 10mins?

Since you asked.

That is all in the mind, it is completely achievable to sing or create a great atmosphere without standing at matches. how does the WSU make so much noise? (when they do sing)

If there had only ever been all seater grounds through out footballing history and fans were brought up singing while seated at games, then no one would be saying that its impossible as those opposed to seating at games suggest.

I've said it countless times on here, there needs to be a campaign to get this law changed if there is such a strong feeling against it (petitions, letters to MP's, marches, etc) rather than say its not fair and blaming clubs or match day stewards as some chose to do.

You would have thought that more would have been done by now to get this changed.

This.

What is physically stopping someone from singing when they are sitting?

Agreed. Westlife used to be sitting for the first 3/4s of all their songs on TOTP

What happened in the final quarter?

There would be a key change and they'd all stand up. Not once did I see a steward speak to them or throw one of them off stage. It's one rule for them and one for us I tells ya.

Does anyone else find the method ASFC have employed here slightly distasteful? I mean, leaving a sign up on the seat as a warning to others - what next, communist style placards round fans necks or people swinging from the gibbet? What are they trying to do - encourage participation or just piss people off and further alienate supporters from the clubs they've followed all their life?

Very odd behaviour in my mind and the club ought to be ashamed of itself. I bet the fan probably had no sort of warning and it was done in a conflicting manner if evidence at the AMEX is anything to go by too!

I think the signage is the warning for others - but you'd remove it as you'd find it distasteful?
