Supporting ISIS and going to a football game are not compatible.

Apparently some ISIS supporters haven't got the message. Here's a huge ISIS flag being waved at a football match in Tunisia.

No Brighton were singing seagulls but he reported it as millwall fans singing seig heil. Get it now:wave:

He accused us that the Seagulls chant was Seig Heil and that we were giving the nazi salute at the same time, when we were actually pointing at the corner flag because we'd won a corner. I was at that game, so I know what happened when.
Of course, because no one would chant Sheep Shaggers, would they?

A viewer heard 'Sea Sea Seasiders' but accused us of of the sheep shaggers chant. It was on tv, and the viewer rang in to complain. Again, Brighton fans were cleared of racist chanting.

The Sun mistakenly reported that Brighton fans were chanting "seig hell", when in fact they were chanting "seagulls".

Shagging sheep and Millwall have nothing to do with anything.

Look again at the link you've quoted. The second instance was the Liverpool game and we were accused of being racist to Craig Bellamy.

This is like all that cringeworthy nonsense over James McClean's refusal to sing the national anthem.
Some footballers don't want to sing the national anthem of another country, some football supporters don't want to sing the national anthem of another country.
Some football supporters will jeer, chant, boo, whatever during a minutes silence.
They all have their reasons (right or wrong), but all this holier-than-thou stuff is a bit embarrassing. Get worked up over something that really matters.

What if they behave like this in France next summer?

the ' cringeworthy nonsense' was nothing to do with McLean not singing it , it was his blatantly provocative stance in turning a different way to the rest of the team , it was intended to show disrespect.

I think respecting people in death matters. You are correct, there is nothing wrong with not taking part in something but there is something wrong in being disrespectful to life

Right, but why does that bother you? Why does one man who clearly has a very particular view on our relationship with Northern Ireland, and his actions really matter?

Pretty despicable by the Turks. You'd think they could put religion to one side for a minute just to acknowledge the atrocity on a human level, but no. Even that small gesture is too much for them. By boo'ing the minutes silence, they are in effect endorsing what happened on Friday.
BUT THE BRITS WILL STILL BE THERE IN FORCE FOR THEIR SUMMER HOLIDAYS???
regards
DR

I'd say that there could be significant repercussions from this. Those Turkish fans may well be in France next year. It could kick off big time and if it does then you can bet your bottom dollar that political capital will be made from it on both sides.

The difficulty in this, of course, is that we don't know how much of this was in response to the bombings in Ankara not being commiserated in the same way. You only have to look at the social media response. So many Turks are giving this as the reason. So, are they trying to cover up the fact that the entire Turkish nation is an ISIS sympathiser, or are they simply revealing that they are pretty miffed at what they see a Western hypocrisy?

Well it's a massive flaw in their ideology.

Maybe it was just one sympathiser going there with a massive flag and no one underneath knew what it said. If a flag rolled itself out at the Amex I would lift it without knowing what was written on the topside. Just a theory of course.

Now, I'm not fluent in Turkish. But if they're saying allahu akbar, they've got a very funny way of doing it.

Sounds NOTHING like it to my untrained ear.
