Tunnicliffe - Why on EARTH is he not starting?

I'm sorry, but star player Virgo is WOEFUL. Elphick tries hard, but ultimately is also POOR.

I have missed 2 matches so far in both Leauge and Cup games, Yeovil and Tranmere, and I can tell you now, Tunnicliffe is a class above both of them, and younger. A great prospect, and also the potential to be a good asset to our team.

Everybody gives him a hell of a lot of praise on here, but he isn't playing at the moment.

In my eyes, to warrant being dropped to the stiffs, you have to do something wrong, or somebody else has to prove they do it better. Neither have happened. Tunni hasn't made a crucial mistake, and my god, neither Elphick nor Virgo have proved to be any better.

Tunnicliffe IN.

I think Tunnicliffe is being very harsly treated at present as he is clearly better than either of the current central defenders.

It may well have been better to play him and Virgo as left back today............

PG, Elphick was the better of the 2, no doubt. But, he was ENTIRELY at the fault for the second, thats also not in doubt.

He isnt in the team because he has made some bad mistakes and got caught in possession and is still learning and despite what many on here say he is not yet as good or reliable as Virgo.

Having said that when 1 -0 down I would have taken El Abd off not because he had -played bad and played 3 across the back with a 5 man midfield of Bennett Croft Dicker Cox and Tunnicliffe with Dicker driopping deep just in front of the back 3. This would have stopped them attacking down their right and we may have been able to pull Sean Gregan out of the middle by Bennett and Cox/ Tunnicliffe attacking their full backs. The added bonus of course would have been his long throw.

Spot on dropping Tunnicliffe just so Virgo could slide back in at ch was an appaling managerial decision, he was getting better with every game.I would have thought he was 1st choice at centre half.If i was Tunnicliffe i would be well pissed off with Slade and slightly resentfull, no wonder there are some underlieing problems at the club at the moment and i fear that they may have reached the irreversable stage...As for Navarro starting today, whats that all about....and whats happened to Jamie Smith, chosen to start at Huddersfield, subbed when Kupiers saw red and he hasnt been seen since, we wernt 7-1 down at that stage......Im afraid Slade hasnst got a clue what his best side is.

Tunnicliffe over Elphick any day of the week. What does Slade see that we don't? Elphick has never returned to the heights of his debut season and looks a shadow of that player now. I've lost count of the goals he has cost us over the past few seasons.
