Oh come on people. I've seen Colin Hawkins give more composed and mistake-free performances than Tunnicliffe's against Orient.

It was nil-nil and he was a central defender. Can't have been that bad can he?

According to the radio he was battered in the Orient game and this game came too soon. I think Gus Poyet rates him since he has played him in most games since his arrival - so doubt he will be going.

Tunnicliffe has more potential than any central defender I've ever seen play for us. Lynch and Elphick both looked like they were decent and would get better, but Tunnicliffe is genuinely a class above from what I've seen. He looks a bit laid back and a bit complacent but with experience he will become a quality player and he's exactly the sort of talent we should be able to nurture and improve, a bit like Bennett. Both are genuinely talented young players and it would be good to see us actually develop quality talent for a change, Tunnicliffe is good enough and Poyet can clearly tell. I don't agree with Poyet about Brezovan, El-Abd or Navarro but I do about Tunnicliffe.

The same El-abd who has been one of our best performers this season...

I'm with TCB on this one. He's no use to a team that needs competent defenders to stay up.

Right here, right now
He made Elphick look good, that's how bad he was. It was 0-0 because Orient are a shocking team who couldn't even score at Withdean when we had 10 men.

As for Poyet rating him, I'm not sure. He's probably the best of an exceptionally bad crop of central defenders, but whether that means he wants him in the long run I wouldn't be so sure.

I stick up for Kuipers purely because he doesn't embarrass himself regularly, but what you should be asking is, is he really good enough to take us to the next level?
:clap2:
