TICKLE does
Yeah, at least can't accuse him of being populist..I'm just not interested in England, and less and less interested in International football generally. So I haven't followed the whole thread
But was fairly impressed by how Tuchel was talking at the press conference I listened to on the radio. Especially his defence and explanations for the choices he knew would be controversiall. And by the contrast with the twitching mess that I remember at the end of his Chelsea time.
Also I am a bit pleased for Dan Burn. He's worked hard for it. The lanky, Saudi-loving, over-celebrating twat.
I'll reserve my judgement since we've had our fingers burned in the past, if I recall a not too disimilar 1st press conference with Eriksson and people thinking we had the next Arsene Wenger and the FA pulled off a masterstroke!! History is not on his sideI'm just not interested in England, and less and less interested in International football generally. So I haven't followed the whole thread

That may be so and, for me personally, I'm not singling out players because I dislike them. It's not the case.of the 22 outfield players, here are 18 of them. Which of these are "the same tired old players"?
Defenders: Dan Burn (Newcastle), Levi Colwill (Chelsea), Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace),, Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Myles Lewis-Skelly (Arsenal), Tino Livramento (Newcastle), Jarell Quansah (Liverpool),
Midfielders: Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace), Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa), Declan Rice (Arsenal).
Forwards: Jarrod Bowen (West Ham), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Dominic Solanke (Tottenham).
As ever with England squads, people ignore that TWENTY SIX players are picked and focus on the 2 or 3 they don't like.
A team of
Pickford
Livramento
Colwill
Guehi
Lewis-Skelly
Rice
Bellingham
Gordon
Kane
Palmer
would hardly be seen as full of tired old players
The turnover of young players coming into the england set up over the last few years has been massive, yet people still have this belief that the squad never changes. I'd argue Guehi, Bellingham and Palmer are key players now. All under 24. Saka would be a key one, 23. Rice is a long standing player now, he's still only 26.
There are around 16 players in this squad who weren't at the last world cup.
Man of the match too. Maybe he read this thread for inspiration.“Average” Dan Burn just scored a great header in a Wembley Final.
Best week of his life ! Chuffed for him.
But can he do it against Latvia?Man of the match too. Maybe he read this thread for inspiration.
Out of the two new centre backs in the England squad (both played today), I know who I’d back every time. But can he do it against Latvia?
If he gets the chance, I'd go for 'Yes'.But can he do it against Latvia?
The only point in him being in the squad is if he can do it against France or Brazil. But can he do it against Latvia?
What kind of baseless nonsense is this?Ability wise, Dan Burn was probably the worst player we’ve had in our Premier League era. Him getting a call up at the age of 32 is bizarre.
I personally don’t like the England team anymore so it’s a shame they’re not playing anyone good as it would have been entertaining to see Burn get destroyed.
Well, it appears thay way? He is one of very few English defenders playing regular football in a CL-challenging team in one of the best leagues. The only point in him being in the squad is if he can do it against France or Brazil.
It’s really simple. If you’re good enough to play regularly for a Premier League team, you can play for England. Lower Prem players (which Burn is not) may well struggle if they got to a semi final or final, but playing the Latvias of this world is not harder than playing a Premier League game.Well, it appears thay way? Thomas Tuchel watched some games and thought "I want Dan Burn instead of Luke Shaw and/or Harry Maguire" and I'm not sure why you have something against it. Its not like there's a bunch of world class English left-backs and LCBs hanging around just waiting for the chance.
I've been screaming for Burn & Webster to get called up for the last four or five years and excited to see Burn show how severly underrated he's been by many people. He is a versatile good Premier League defender who is always at his best in the big games.
Hopefully Adam gets the chance next time around - Quansah and Colwill are very promising but certainly under threat in the short term.
I’m talking about ability, not attitude. He’s shown you can make a career by being tall and trying hard although my opinion is probably influenced by knowing what kind of person he really is.What kind of baseless nonsense is this?
