to a standard 3/4 inch outside tap. I though I would google 3/4 inch female thread to a 1inch barb, and bingo. Not the case, though.
Can NSC succeed where Google has failed?
Another, and fail-safe method would be to get a normal 3/4" hose connector for the tap;

With a jubilee clip, secure a small bit of 1/2" hose pipe to this, and fit a 1/2" Geka hose tail to the other end.

You could use a "Hoselock" type tap connector and use a Hoselock push fitting instead of a Geka.

On your 1" hose, fit a 1" Geka hose tail.
