Well he has gone and hopefully, if impeached, never to return.
Anyway, I wonder if anyone else like me has a ' holiday in the pot' to America.
I was allowed to put in on hold by the holiday company.
Obviously I wont go until Covid goes away but I also have the worry of what America will be like post Trump.
Its not a silly question because a lot of his supporters are dangerous mentalists.
Together with Covid and Trump I'm thinking I will nit go for the foreseeable future and I do not know how long it will be held for or if i can swop it for another country.
Not sure I want to go there now anyway 70 million Trump fans let loose is a concern.

You won’t be missed.

I'm not buying this 'Patriot Party' shite.

• As I've mentioned before, I very much doubt he's got any interest in being President.
• As a third option – or fourth, if Kanye is true to his word – he's not going to get anywhere near the required numbers to make an impact
• The party could split the Republican vote, but they would see it coming and that would make up their minds to impeach him, which would mean...
• ... he wouldn't be able to run for president anyway.

Regardless of all of that, he's got money/legal troubles coming out of his ears. It would be best for all of us if he just buggered off and played golf away from everyone's attention. And part of me thinks that might just happen. The Q mob are already turning because they know that they've been duped good and proper. And Trump is copping a lot of the flak for that. So his admittedly impressive 70+ million voters are probably not going to hang around.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but in some ways it already feels like Trump is yesterday's news...

If he does set up a new party, I wonder if many or any of the current Republican Senators or Representatives will join it?

I can see it now. Denis Rodman, Glenn Beck, Ken Hamblin, Howard Stern, Chuck Norris, Naomi Seibt, Rudy Giuliani and the exhumed corpse of Jimmy Hoffa. The dream team :lolol:

More to the point. Who will fund it?

Can't see Murdoch parting with his hard earned!

Are you unfamiliar with the running of a cult? He has plenty of people willing to fund him - but will he choose to set up a media company? Or just get enough cash in the bank to pay off his existing bad debt and just keep moving things around.

I know it won't happen, but I don't want this mans name to remain newsworthy. I'd love for this thread to be closed and for NSC to do a small part in consigning this man to political history.

Quite clearly people connected to either the Chinese and Russian state. As they've been financing misinformation in the West for years, I'm sure a Trump political party (and news channel) will fit nicely in their existing portfolios.

The thread can't really be closed until after the Senate impeachment trial at the earliest.

QAnon followers can't believe that Trump didn't stay in power as was predicted....
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-55746304

Followers of the baseless QAnon conspiracy theory are divided after Joe Biden's inauguration confounded their predictions that Donald Trump would remain president in order to punish his enemies in the "deep state".

Many reacted with shock and despair as Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th US president.

"I just want to throw up," said one in a popular chat on the Telegram messaging app. "I'm so sick of all the disinformation and false hope."

Others insisted "the plan" had not failed, finding new theories to latch on to.

For weeks, QAnon followers had been promoting 20 January as a day of reckoning, when prominent Democrats and other elite "Satanic paedophiles" would be arrested and executed on the orders of President Trump.

Oh, the irony :lolol:

I'll have you know, I've run a few cults in my time.

Are you suggesting that Donald is just in it for himself (and the money)?

So we could have a Trump Today with presenters of integrity like George Galloway and Alex Salmond?

I'm in,

I'm in,

Yes, with probably a few strands like The FakeNews Quiz, FakeNewsNight and Have I Got Fake News For You.

Loads of comedy covid skeptics like Toby Young, Allison Pearson, Julia Hartley-Brewer, Peter Hitchens etc.. ready to appear as panelists and guests.

I've got a feeling it that it won't, to be honest. Obviously not for a while because of the impeachment, but in four years time, can you REALLY see people still banging on about Trump – or him being anywhere near the political stage?

Sure, he'll have a voice somewhere, but I think he'll lose interest in the whole thing and go away (either golf course or prison cell) quietly for the rest of his days. I can't see him rocking up to an inauguration with the rest of the ex-presidents.

Reality TV shows (ironically, ones like his own) always build people up and get them in the public eye, but then they are gone almost as quickly as they arrived. Attention spans are getting shorter, the republicans will be looking to distance themselves from him and with good reason – he'll do his best to destroy them – and his followers will soon lose interest. His base Qanon people are already turning against him, like many others.

I think this fails to take into account the mean spirited vindictiveness of Trump. If he's not impeached and prevented from running for president I can definitely see him mounting a challenge, not least because it's highly profitable for him, but also to hit back at his enemies both real and imahgined.
If he fails at least one of his offspring will try to take up the torch, and there's plenty of Republicans who will seek to co-opt his legacy either opportunistically or for ideological reasons.

Sadly i think he will continue to cast a shadow over US politics for years to come like some malevolent tower of orange turd
