Churchill was a great war time leader and orator. Witty and sharp as well. Obviously all traits Donny doesn't have. Maybe someone might like to Tweet him and point out he does shared a characteristic with Churchill though - Churchill was a racist.

The amount of looting and disruption that has taken place may make some voters favour Trump, seeing him as strong on law and order without realizing some of the damage was done by white supremacists and other right wing factions

I don't think you can use logic when trying to assess a lot of American voters.

That's true - if you put a donkey up there with a red rosette some Republicans would vote for it (I always have to remember that the red and blue colours for the two parties are opposite to the UK) - and in the interests of neutrality the same could be said of some Democrats
