I'm referring to WikiLeaks and what it showed.

According to an email from Marissa Astor, Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook’s assistant, to Clinton campaign chair John Podesta, the campaign knew Trump was going to run, and pushed his legitimacy as a candidate. WikiLeaks’ release shows that it was seen as in Clinton’s best interest to run against Trump in the general election.

They deliberately contributed to the clown getting far more air time and exposure than he should have by going after him.

He won the election because a lot of people wanted a change. It didn't matter what the change was, they just wanted to kick the US political establishment where the sun don't shine. It was supposed to be a shoe-in for Hilary. Trump was derided and treated as a joke by the majority of the media and celebrity ' luvvies ' It was the arrogance of too many that rubbed people up the wrong way and the thought of another Clinton, after two Bushes and the fake Obama, was too much for many. The people decided that they weren't going to allow their politics to continue to get more cosy, more predictable and most importantly more corrupt.
They knew Trump would be a shock to the system but also knew, that as a powerful businessman, he stood a chance of actually getting things done. Putting the interests of US citizens first and sorting the economy out, for starters.
Some people are obsessed with the idea that elections/referendums are won/lost on the basis of specific mistruths ( Email servers/Buses etc ) This is to satisfy themselves that the opposition only won because they deceived the electorate and didn't play fair. Well, there is nothing fair in politics. It is an environment that spends its time peddling half-truths, lies and propaganda, to suit its own agenda. It relies on apathy and disinterest. It puts out manifesto's and then promptly ignores everything in them. It keeps sending out a message, then changes direction and blames lack of co-operation from others.
The US election and our referendum were pivotal moments in history, when a lot of people suddenly decided that the establishment had had their own way for too long, the status quo had to change and they wanted to shake things up. They did.

All good con artists can spin an illusion, history shows dictators are great at leading the impressionable masses in this respect. Those invested in the illusion will try and fight harder to prove they were not wrong, as is happening now.
