I see it completely opposite.

They will go to war with law enforcement, to save their democracy.
Many have been itching for this for years, decades even.

The last thing they want is government, taxation and social welfare only now do they have a movement which echos their voice.

They'll come stumbling out of their bunkers, compounds and the wilderness all bleary eyed and twitchy.
It's not going to take much incitement to set off a few with shorter fuses, the problem being they are likely to be the most heavily armed.

There have been plenty of heavily armed " stand offs " in the last few months due to the BLM awakening and the armed morons threatening the governor in Michigan when Trump did his infamous " Liberate Michigan ! " statement. I'm genuinely surprised these events have not ended up with major shoot outs so far. When you see the " professionalism " of some peoples equipment down to gas masks, flak jackets and even walkie talkies this is a massive surprise to me.

I hope it does not all go up in smoke but, there are some class A nutters out there like the late Ashli Babbit who really don't see common sense and are only loosely connected to the real world.

Nah, beorhthelm is likely to be right. They talk tough about taking back control and teaching the commies a lesson but when it comes to a showdown, they run back to mommy.

Have you not seen the news story about the horned invader whining that the prison where he's being held has no organic food or the number of people howling and sobbing that they've been put on the no-fly list? Heavily armed or not, they'll bottle it the minute they're met with any resistance

Current trending topic on twitter is the reports that Chuck Norris was at the rally. Someone reportedly quite unpleasant's instagram post has him posing with Chuck. Not seen any evidence he was involved in breaking into the Capitol, but I don't think it's a surprise that he is a Trump supporter.

Had they been called it would have been the first time in combat history the American army could be excused a 'friendly fire' killing:-

At one point Jnr said 'look even the army are involved'.
'No that's just someone dressed up as a solider'.

100% this. They're a bunch of posturing cowards. You can guarantee that if the level of security around the Capitol had been the same as for the BLM march, not one of those pricks would have gone anywhere near!

They're thick as mince but not so thick to realise that if they start shooting, they're going to die.

As someone said about the Michigan morons (who postured and then went home) "they're bringing guns to a drone fight".

They'd last about 10s against the big boys, and they know it.

Quite probably and I'd imagine that may well account for 95 even 99% of the acolytes, but I'm sure that 1% will see the inauguration as their one last chance to stop America descending in communism.

It's their right and most worryingly their god given duty to stop that from happening.

Chuck Norris on why he is a conservative - "I used to be a Democrat [but they changed and I didn't like it]... ...what the Democrats believed in 40 years ago, the Republicans believe today"

Just about sums it up, I'd say.

FBI fears armed protests by Trump supporters ahead of Biden inauguration

CNN saying that the FBI have credible evidence that protestors were planning to use drones with explosives during the inauguration.

Makes you wonder how much sympathy the Washington Police initially had for the Trump protestors when you look at how lax the policing seemed to have been, certainly the NYPD is / was very much pro Trump.

Also the corporate backlash continues with more and more major companies saying they are halting donations to Congress members who backed overturning the election result

When visiting Barbados I always thought it was a bit over the top not to allow the wearing of any camouflage clothing, i.e. shorts and t-shirts.
However whenever I see public protests in the USA it's often hard to differentiate who's who.

The Bajans have clearly thought this through more than the Yanks.

It is more complex, and the nuances are disputed by some, but the idea that they switched is not some secret or unpopular idea. It's a common story of how Southern Democrats were in favour of slavery and Republicans like Lincoln were for emancipation and ending slavery. Then in the 50s/60s around Jim Crow (I'm not sure if it was the introduction or removal of the Jim Crow laws), there was a backlash, and there was a switch with white voters opposed to integration and racial equality migrated to the republican party, and black people and white people in favour of equality and integration migrated to the democrats. There is dispute about whether this is driven by the politicians ('the southern strategy') or by the voters. But, yeah, it's common knowledge that what democrats and republicans essentially switched beliefs.

EDIT
Found this which will probably be more accurate than my crude summary https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Democrats

It's not a happy read but this guy has regularly been worryingly prescient in his warnings on Trump (and to a lesser extent European politics) over the past few years. He's not optimistic about the future of America.

40 years ago is 1981.

Hopefully they are drones which can be easily taken down by military anti-drone devices.

Imagine a 'conservative' action star actor from the UK (think Vinnie Jones) claiming they supported labour 40 years ago (leader, Michael Foot) but now prefer the Conservatives because, under the leadership of Boris, they have recapitulated the shithousery of 1981 Labour.

Oh, hang on a minute ???

An odd definition of nothing, but you're probably right.

As said though the inauguration will be seen as the 'last chance' which may well up the ante.

I don't imagine attempts to remove Ted Cruz from office will help the situation, either.

Pretty sure the US military has some thing that can block radio signals or some kind of EMP that can scramble their electrics.

1) What's up with his cheeks? Is he part hamster?

2) He doesn't actually say anything. Apart from one party moved from one position to the other. There's no examples of what he's on about or depth to his argument! Very Trumpist :lolol:
