Of course Trump did nothing to encourage people to storm the US Capitol yesterday.

Of course it was ANTIFA people.

Of course the election was rigged.

Of course dead people voted.

Of course Joe Biden has dementia.

Of course everyone who left his administration did a 'bad job'.

Of course he didn't suggest injecting disinfectant to cure covid.

Of course it was a perfect phone call with Ukraine.

Of course he didn't ask them to do him 'a favour'.

Of course the Hunter Biden laptop story is totally legit.

Of course 'Pizzagate' is a real thing.

Of course he's never heard of QAnon.

Of course he's built the wall, like he promised he would.

Of course he's locked Hillary Clinton up, like he promised he would.

Of course he's repealed and replaced 'Obamacare', like he promised he would.

Of course he's the healthiest person in the world.

Of course he knows more about [insert subject here] than anyone else.

Of course he's the least racist person in the world.

Of course he never demeans people by giving them derogatory nicknames.

Of course he didn't use his hotels and properties to profit from his position of president.

Of course he has evidence that Obama's birth certificate is fake.

Of course it was 'locker room talk'.

Of course all those women are lying about sexual assault.

It's LITERALLY never his fault. He's like the boy who cried wolf, but there never has been a wolf and there never will be. Lying is second nature to him – to the point where part of him believes it's true.

Funny bloke :dunce:

I'm seeing a lot of Tory supporters trying to convince themselves that what is happening in America could never happen here, or that the Right wing of US politics is different to the right wing of UK politics. You're deluding yourselves, so many Tory politicians and people like Farage have used the same play book that Trumpo has: Just look at Gove saying that people are sick of experts or people like Christopher Chope who is an anti masker. Many Tories have completely embraced Trump. There are many similarities between Brexit and Trump's victory.

On a slightly different track, one thing I really hate about this website (I know I don't have to come on here, but the good does outway the bad) is how you get Race baiting threads and dog whistles from certain posters are nothing gets done about it, and then when Swansman points out (correctly) that ACAB he gets insta banned for a number of weeks. Proving the age old point that Liberals will always side with fascists.

I can certainly see the similarities ..

Do you really believe that anyone will be arrested for what happened yesterday?

they cant exactly not be arrested and charged, would condone their actions.

Frankly, I'm stunned that more weren't shot dead. Considering the actions taken during other protests in the last year or so, it was a very differently handled situation.

I'm seeing a lot of Tory supporters trying to convince themselves that what is happening in America could never happen here.........................There are many similarities between Brexit and Trump's victory.

It already has............. and yes, there are similarities between the UK and the USA - we've both had baying mobs demonstrating outside the legislature, marching up and down, waving their flags, and trying to shout down a democratic result which they lost and wouldn't accept.

Fortunately, our baying mob was far less nasty, aggressive and violent than that lot over there (and they weren't racist either).
