There's a big difference between debating whether to go in initially, and just pulling out to leave a shitstorm behind you.

There's always some shit storm in that shit region of the world. As long as they keep following that stupid backwards ideology that keeps them living in the dark ages nothing will ever change.

No point anyone else outside of that region hanging around waiting to die while they do.

The troops are there to keep the region stable. he's very quick to keep saying how he's defeated ISIS "100%" but that is just plain ignorant. Those people are still there, albeit largely captured and rounded up into inadequately manned detention camps. If the Kurds now have to rush to the border to prevent Turkey pushing forward - they have already stated the area they will hold is twice the size the US initially suggested - then they leave the camps even more unmanned.

The time for western citizens dying in that region needs to end. If we aren't there nobody can claim they are being antagonists. What you're affectively saying is if a bunch of US soldiers dies there so be it.

Peace keeping forces are a necessity, and IMHO this region is not ready to stand alone, and pulling out leaving the Kurds to try to control the remnants of ISIS and stop them reforming, and re-arming, while also trying to keep Turkey back, is extremely dangerous. He desperately needed a "WIN" and has gone for getting troops back from foreign wars, but this one may blow up in his face because he's done it off his own back, and the GOP see the wider dangers in this move.

Time for the Middle Eastern nations to start proving the peace keeping forces in that region.

If they formed a large multi nation peace keeping force to use in the region it would be better than having the US there. Agreed?

the Kurds in Syria were asked to fight ISIS on behalf of the West, with weapons provided by the US. They agreed to do so, and the US promised to protect them after ISIS were defeated. This is a gross dereliction of that promise, and Trump should hang his head in shame, as he's almost certainly triggered a period of ethnic genocide in that region.

Those are the same people who lead to weapon of mass distractions type lies.

I honesty think you could come up with more reasonable and safer options than these military warmongers could.

It's clear you would rather Trump has sole control of the US military machine than the generals and military advisors. Which scares me.

If any ethnic cleansing of Kurds occurs going forward however by Turkey then this is Europe's fault.

Europe should be reigning in Turkey and offering assistance to the Kurds given the proximity of that nation to EU members.

Saying it should be simply US soldiers lives on the line shows Europe's true colours.

If it leads to less US intervention in foreign nations then he's making that machine less deadly.

Once again, you're talking about the kind of people and generals that sent war to Iraq on the premise of lies.

You're essentially saying leave the war machine in the hands of lying warmongers.

Why is it you think those who profit so much from this military industry are always so keen to engage in conflict?

It's telling that the CIA are going after a President that challenges their free reign on nefarious activities by trying to fit him up with bullshit charges. CIA are rotten to the core.

No, nothing like when Obama was in office and Obama certainly wasn't a Putin puppet. In fact they hated each other.

That would be the Obama who out did Bush for conflicts and bombing.

So not Putin's puppet but the industrial war complexes puppet.

It's bloody hilarious when in the same thread you have people saying Trump has this huge ego and does what he wants because of his ego, yet apparently he has no ego and does exactly what someone else less powerful than him tells him do.

Yup, that's some time foil hat logic right there haha

It's not really 'tin foil hat' logic. It's entirely possible for Trump to be the big egotistical prick he is with regards to his own country, but also be aware that he has nothing on Putin.
If we use a football scenario, think of it like Zaha: the big fish in the Palace pond, but on the grander, world stage isn't a patch on the bigger players out there.

Trump has let the Kurds down badly, and for no perceptible gain.

This will be his downfall. Many in the US military and intelligence will not like the fact he has left the Kurds to their fate once they had done the USA’s hard work in fighting ISIS on the ground in Syria. Shameful.

He has tried to justify his action by pointing out that the Kurds didn't help on D-Day.

Trump is the biggest player on the world stage right now though.

Nobody is bigger or has as much power behind them, especially in military terms.

What examples have we seen to show us he's more than happy to cede his ego and take a big step back and have someone else tell him what to do and he's done it.

For Trump to be Putin's puppet it would take some highly elaborate and highly secretive plan to make it work undetected.

Do you really think you could rely on Trump to pull off such a heist given how apparently stupid he is according to the same people who think this is what's happening?

Pie in the sky stuff as was found out by the laughable russia-gate farce.
