Trump University was also the subject of two class action lawsuits in federal court. The lawsuits centered around allegations that Trump University defrauded its students by using misleading marketing practices and engaging in aggressive sales tactics. The company and the lawsuits against it received renewed interest due to Trump's candidacy in the 2016 presidential election. Despite repeatedly insisting that he would not settle, Trump settled all three lawsuits in November 2016 for a total of $25 million after being elected to the presidency.[4]

Imagine that. A uni named after Donald Trump tells lies!

That's not fair. Trump University was good:

"Trump University (also known as the Trump Wealth Institute and Trump Entrepreneur Initiative LLC) was an American for-profit education company that ran a real estate training program from 2005 until 2010. It was owned and operated by The Trump Organization. (A separate organization, Trump Institute, was licensed by Trump University but not owned by the Trump Organization.) After multiple lawsuits, it is now defunct. It was founded by Donald Trump and his associates, Michael Sexton and Jonathan Spitalny, in 2004. The company offered courses in real estate, asset management, entrepreneurship, and wealth creation.[2]

The organization was not an accredited university or college. It did not confer college credit, grant degrees, or grade its students.[3] In 2011, the company became the subject of an inquiry by the New York Attorney General's office for illegal business practices that resulted in a lawsuit filed in 2013.

:lolol:

John Grisham novel, The Rooster Bar, is about US Law colleges who use the same tactics to bring in students with grades that are really too low for the rigour of the course they are going to do, that they know will not make the grade or get a career at the end of it, just to earn the tuition fees.

What came first - the book or Trump University?

Grisham's book (which shares scary similarities to the alleged actions of the university) came out in 2017

The jacket contains the following blurb..

Law students Mark, Todd and Zola wanted to change the world - to make it a better place. But these days these three disillusioned friends spend a lot of time hanging out in The Rooster Bar, the place where Todd serves drinks. As third-year students, they realise they have been duped. They all borrowed heavily to attend a law school so mediocre that its graduates rarely pass the bar exam, let alone get good jobs. And when they learn that their school is one of a chain owned by a shady New York hedge-fund operator who also happens to own a bank specialising in student loans, the three realise they have been caught up in The Great Law School Scam.

So they begin plotting a way out. Maybe there's a way to escape their crushing debt, expose the bank and the scam, and make a few bucks in the process. But to do so, they have to leave law school, pretend they are qualified and go into battle with a billionaire and the FBI . . .

Can't recommend the book... normally a JG fan but only got a few chapter in before giving up so can't say if the billionaire is written to sound like it's Trump.

Certainly looks like JG looked at these allegations and dramatised them for his book.

Its a "Number 1 Best Seller" (NY Times) so could will be a screenplay already!!

Yeah but pointing out hypocrites is fun.

Why bother spouting shit about one side when there's no history of all these outraged children calling out the same behaviour of the other turds when they were ****ing everything up?

Hypocrites should be called out at every opportunity don't you think?

Are you calling me a hypocrite?
This is a thread about Trump. If you want to start a thread about Hilary Clinton (for the record I can't abide her either) then by all means go ahead.

Exactly Tyrone Biggums is probably the builder who takes your money and then tells you how awful the blokes who did the work before him were when all you want is for him to get on with the current job.
