My friends would not discuss anything with me for fear of reprisals. I have not heard from one of my 4 fellow teachers recently. None of them were terrorists.

This is pretty vague. No dates or circumstances for me to look at the timeline.

When the uprising, attempted Coup, started The Syrian army lost about 30,000 soldiers in the first 3 months of the war, if not in battle exectuted, butchered and beheaded. It was a country of a thousand plots and far more complicated than you are trying to make out. This doesn't happen against a peaceful opposition.

Provoking disruption and division from outside sources eventually mistakes will be made, sodiers will kill wrong people. That's why we shouldn't provoke or encourage wars. Once they start, bad things happen. People facing death do dumb things.

The so called peaceful protests were infiltrated and with people in the Assad government handing out Syrian passports to foriegn fighters of course shit is going to happen. The west fanned the flames and encouraged it.

Hopefully your 4 fellow teachers wll be fine, but you cannot scratch the surface on how Syrai became Syria. This was Assad in a proxy war and any country who subcribed to the "regime change policy" is just as much to blame if not more than Assad for the devastion and deaths.
