He's been doing pretty decent things with the automotive industry so far. Michigan voted him in and he seems to be rewarding them with giving a shit about their issues.

Unlike Obama who even though he was from Chicago leaves the city in a worse position than when he took over.

I expect that they will settle into a pattern in which the people around him will work steadily to de-regulate, enrich their supporters (a traditional GOP agenda) while DT provides a distracting sideshow. The biggest risk he faces is if/when the Russians overplay their hand with all the dubious financial stuff that they have on him.

You know what else are traditional agendas?

Republicans instigating and voting for civil rights issues in favour of the black community.

How do Washington, a professional soldier, Jefferson, an experienced legislator and intellectual, Lincoln, a fighter against slavery and a man who united the country and man of action Roosevelt, who fought against corruption and dodgy dealings, stack up against a draft-dodging, double-dealing businessman? Someone who has more bitterly divided the country than any other president

In one word, protectionists. Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt were all nationalist protectionists. Just like Trump.

Here's things you might not know...

Teddy Roosevelt is most like Trump, rated in the top 2 narcissistic presidents in US history(along with LBJ) he was also big on protectionism and was a populist President.

Lincoln was also VERY big on criticising the press. More so than Trump, Lincoln actually threw some in jail. He was also big on internal subsidies and raising tariffs.

Washington like Trump had no great affiliation with any political ideology, he was a businessman. Another who was big on protecting local trade from foreign competition.

Jefferson the least like Trump was still a protectionist at his core as well(and a slave owner).

People seem to forget the numbers of jobs Trump has created over the years through his building projects. Some sections of the media tried to stitch up Trump throughout the campaign. The opposition did everything they could to try and condition people in to hating Trump, it failed and did the reverse. Give the bloke a chance, for all we know it might be good for America. People don't give a stuff about Trumps life, they just want a job, money and too move forward.

Just because he says he doesn't beleive in Climate Change doesn't mean America is suddenly going to change path and break all it's promises, secondly there are countries and companies in the world that are doing far more damage to the environment than Donald Trump ever will.

Well he has previously spoken about pulling out of the Paris Climate agreement so if that were to happen it would mean breaking America's promises.

The USA is the second highest produced of carbon emissions after China. The USA needs to work on greatly reducing it's emissions as soon as possible and needs a proactive President who will work to rapidly reduce the figures by investing in renewable energy, public transportation etc. Instead we have Trump who want to fire up the coal burners again and start building more cars

The face palm was more about the fact that Trump thinks Coal is the future. I agree with you about more manufacturing as a good thing, but it would be great to see America lead the way in environmental technology and manufacture in those areas rather than just rolling another bunch of gas guzzling shit mobiles off the conveyor belt.
