Were you there?

And did I say it was their fault? No. Just that they made several poor decisions yesterday.

eta that was meant for Timbo not Chez.

Pack it in for fucks sake.

Poor old Leeds. How was it the Police's fault that two sets of fans wanted to kick the shit out of each other? Did the OB all turn up with Burberry Policemans Hats on, hanging round corners on their mobiles?

They should have anticipated it and taken precautions, they f***ed up. They are responsible for law and order outside the ground.

Seems like another load of speculation to me.

As an exiled Brighton fan living in Leeds, I went to the game yesterday out of pure boredom. I was in the West Stand Lower, near to the South Stand where the Millwall fans were sitting. Even though there was a heavy police presence, the Millwall fans seemed very well behaved - it only got a bit tense when Matt Kilgallon celebrated Leeds' goal by gesturing to the Millwall fans. In the second half, the Leeds lot started winding Millwall up, and one idiot threw a handful of coins straight at the Millwall fans. He was promptly arrested, and thrown out. After this, there was no more trouble between the fans at all. Granted, Jody Morris' celebrations were well out of order (he ran the whole length of the West Stand celebrating....), but there had been chants of 'Morris is a rapist' all game, so you can't lay all the blame at his feet...

Overall, I thought it was a very calm game between two poor sides - certainly no "Bottles, missiles and bricks being thrown and on a level harking back to the 80s." :nono:

Perhaps if people stopped posting this sort of sensationalist nonsense, it might go some way to stopping getting the fans all wound up for the so-called 'tasty' games.....

"Bottles, missiles and bricks being thrown"

I was there and saw this so it wasn't sensationalist nonsense. How did you get away after the game to miss it? Out the West and around the back of the Kop? The trouble was going on all along Elland ROad, the McDs car park, the car park by the club shop and up Beeston Hill.

PS - the West Stand is awful, why do you sit there?

I left a few minutes after the final whistle, and strolled round by the temporary programme hut for a bit. Didn't see any trouble at all (apart from one drunk Leeds fan getting the shit kicked out of him for having a piss up against the Billy Bremner statue, but that was by other Leeds fans.....).

I only turned up about 15 mins before kickoff - the West Stand seemed like the best option for a £22 cheapest ticket.....

No one pisses on Billy and gets away with it, Leeds fan or not, he should know better. Not that I am advocating violence at all. There was trouble all along Elland Road, started pre game when Milwall put the windows through on the buses/coaches.

Ahh, fair enough about the West Stand, I have a season ticket in the North Stand and have been in the West Stand a few times, it's were the prawn sandwich brigade sit.

"No trouble"...Is this wrong then Yorkshire?

FA probing Elland Road violence

Leeds 1-1 Millwall
The Football Association will launch an investigation into the violence that marred the Championship game between Leeds and Millwall on Sunday.
West Yorkshire Police made 10 arrests after the 1-1 draw at Elland Road and riot police were called to quell fighting inside the stadium.

An FA spokesman said: "We are making inquiries and will speak to the police.

"Some of the incidents appear to have occurred outside the ground and they would not fall under our jurisdiction."

A tense atmosphere was made worse when Jody Morris, who had an unhappy eight-month spell at United last season, equalised with an 86th-minute penalty.

Morris, who had been goaded by the home fans throughout, responded after his goal by running 70 yards with one hand cupped over his ear in a mocking gesture

Looks like it's all going off. Just got this off Reuters:

The current conflict between Leeds United and Millwall seems set to explode beyond control after the assasination of leading Millwall hooligan Billy Ray Cyrus.

Cyrus, the leader of the most powerful Millwall gang, had called together a meeting of all the Millwall tribes last night in Battersea Park. All gangs were represented and the uneasy truce between the different groups appeared to be holding.

Millwall fans had suffered a devestating reverse at Elland Road, after a huge missile attack had taken place around the stadium after the 1-1 draw between the two sides. There were tentative hopes of a peace deal to be brokered by the U.N, but those hopes now lie in ruins.

Cyrus, best known for his successful single "Achy Breaky Heart", appeared at around 12:30 am and began to climb up a tall wooden tower with a small platform at the top.

"Can you count suckas?" he shouted to the crowd. He continued "I say the future is ours IF you can count".

He stood on the platform and surveyed the scene in front of him. Pointing to individual groups in the crowd he remarked "Look what we have here. The Dulwich Hill Crew next to the Stuart Nethercott fan club. We got the Official supporters club sitting right next to the New Cross Gate boys. Can you dig it suckas?"

The crowd roared its approval. Cyrus then went on to outline his plan. "We got over 50,000 well trained supporters, plus another 80,000 fans, not trained but ready to fight. That makes 130,000 troops. Now there ain't more than 60,000 Leeds fans in the whole country! Can you dig it!?"

As he raised his arms in triumph, a shot rang out from the crowd and Cyrus fell, mortally wounded by the gunshoy fired by a mystery assailant. It now seems certain that any Leeds fans in the London area will be subjected to taunts and there is even the threat of people going "WOOAAAHH" very loudly towards them.

More news as it comes in.

Scary stuff!

My mate is a millwall fan who lives in Leeds and it took him an hour to get from the away end to meet the blokes he went with who were sitting in the Leeds end.

Big mistakes made by police.
