Everything in this board, like most boards, is stored in a SQL database.

If an admin really wanted they could write some SQL to read PMs - there is nothing provided to do it.

The stats I quote above are from one of the utilities provided in the Admin panel to determine PM usage - it returns totals only not individual messages.
