Would still need an out and out striker that will replace ulloa on top of those 3

Very much so.

A lot more could happen in this window.

Agustien OUT ???

Maksimenko OUT ???

Tempting bids received for KLL, CMS or Buckley ??? A replacement needed ???

Fenelon to go OUT on loan ???

New defender who can play central or rightback IN on loan from PL ???

Plenty for Burke to be busy with.

Or completely the opposite. We've held out hoping they'll drop their prices, they have, so we're not going to pay full price like we would have done a month ago.

Jesus there are some one eyed tits on NSC.

and we have saved a months wages 120k or thereabouts

I agree. But unless Fenelon (loan) or CMS (sold) depart, I can see us being left with those two plus Baldock and O`Grady. Id imagine we will start the season with those four, keeping money in reserve until January when we may need to bolster the attack. CMS will be in the last few months of his contract then, surely time to move on like Barnes did at that time last season. Either sell CMS or send Fenelon out on loan to make room for a prolific striker would be my choice.

Or perhaps our offers have been on the table, no-one has come up with anything better, and Brizzle City, Huddersfield and Ward have decided to take what they can get.

Suspect Baldock would be a replacement for Lingard and play (if signed) as more of a winger/forward. Suspect the club are still looking for a replacement for Leo and that will cost a few quid. Still welcome news if true.

I don't know how much, if any, say the club have over articles like that going out. But it's very much a 'cards on the table' statement... Whilst we've known about wanting Ward for a while, and the other names have been bandied about its not how we usually do transfer business.
I wonder how far down the line we actually are with these 3

I was thinking along those lines. The new Albion do not normally put out transfer news until the deal has been done so it is either the deals have been done or the club has leaked the story to boost ticket sales for the Sheffield Wednesday :lolol: game.

I think that, if true, this is appalling news. Can you imagine just how quiet it'll be in here in relation to whingeing, moaning, naysaying and doom and gloom?

Hell yes. Threads on "What's your favourite nail varnish colour", "Does too much cabbage give you wind", "Which biscuit dissolves most quickly when you dip it in your tea?"

Aaargh.

Don't sign anybody. Lose some games.

Insanity will rule.

£8m in a fortnight ago, the extra £3k a week for Ward could have been executed within an hour not still paper talk

Sorry to be blunt here but what part of 'the club has a salary cap' are you struggling with?

This is my take on the Argus story. The title appears considerably more positive than the content in the body of the article. We are just taking too long to seal the deal, even if it happened today.

Yes you might have said this before once or twice, but that doesn't make it any truer. We were adding people to the squad after the first game last season, hence the closing date of the TRANSFER window isn't for another 29 days.

Really excited about Ward and Clayton in particular. We already know how dependable Ward is, and how good he is going forward, so I'm sure he'd be a menace playing under the new formation/style. Clayton is class and hard as nails, would love him in the side. Baldock is more of a gamble but if the Bristol City fans are to be believed, and they're a pretty straight-talking bunch on the whole, he is hitting top form and would presumably have the hunger to go with it. Fingers crossed.

This can't be right? I thought we weren't allowed to sign anyone after the end of May! I thought we were doomed to relegation?

It's a mixed bag for me. Relieved by Ward - guy like him gives some hope that Sami can make his wingback system work. Underwhelmed by baldock - not as good as CMS so I don't see the point, not Champ quality for me. I haven't seen enough of clayton but the midfield is where we are most lacking any class whatsoever, so here's hoping
