Have been fine with us for any medical histories/meds, including a major health scare in 2019 in 'that department' awaiting an op. Also highly rated by Which? Be prepared for a lengthy call.

Good luck with the insurance and the health thing.

Wife comes home, says her colleague used Avanti insurance.
Half an hour on the phone to them and I've got a policy with dodgy guts excluded, £87.

So NSC 0 - 1 Wife

Thanks for the input though, appreciate it.

Now to start a "Where to watch the match in Fuerteventura" thread
I wouldn't start that thread. Not impressive enough and too windy there! :lolol:

I've got a holiday booked in March and I'm having trouble renewing my travel insurance; Because I'm currently under investigation for a medical issue with my guts which has shown up a bit of an issue but not life affecting and I'm currently waiting for a consultant appointment, they won't quote me.
Anyone got any recommendations for a Travel Insurance provider who will insure me (even if it means gastric problems are excluded) ?
Try staysure.
I am covered by them with my medical history

I found LV insurance helpfully pragmatic when it came to insuring pre-existing medical conditions in December. Worth noting that once you take out an annual policy with them, you do not have to declare any new medical conditions until the policy is due for renewal which helps with the issue you mentioned.
Does anyone know if this also applies to a Staysure annual policy?

Here’s the wording from LV. I was very surprised - thought it might be a misprint - but they told me the same on the phone:

- Once you have purchased cover you don’t need to tell us of any changes to any insured
person’s medical health during the period of cover. This includes if a medical condition or
any symptoms develop after your policy was issued or if a pre-existing condition you’ve
told us about changes in any wa
y.

Unfortunately doesn’t help with the original enquiry but for anyone with already diagnosed pre-existing conditions that may be prone to change, could be useful.

In my case, I was actually waiting for a scan. Because it was further investigation of a condition I’d already declared, they said that was acceptable. Again, surprised but wasn’t going to argue!

LV are very good.

The company I work for handles their medical assistance and they're a very fair insurer unlike some others we work with.

Can I add to the plaudits for Staysure? I’m getting annual insurance (including skiing), in my seventies, after three bouts of cancer in last seven years. (I’ll share my premium amount if someone wants to DM me). They’re always really helpful on the phone (and I strongly recommend that route) trying everything they can to keep the premium down, and they’ll always knock something off if you threaten to look elsewhere.
My main gripe with all the insurers is that they always include cancellation cover, lost luggage cover, delay cover etc etc whether you want it or not. The only insurance I want is to be whisked home in a medical emergency, but it’s hard just to buy that.

I've multiple health conditions and have used Staysure in the past - very good. I've also been using InsureWith. They have a much more detailed medical underwriting process than the standard one used by most insurers and, as a result, I have found their prices v competitive. I've had a modest claim with them dealt with very well. Be prepared though, they ask a lot of questions!
